@skipper2010: it's definitely exciting to have a date...but at the same time, it seems so close! and not that it wasn't real before, this makes it really real! haha my original due date was 8/15 based off a dating u/s because I didn't know my LMP. but that was incorrect and my doc moved it to 8/7.

You guys....I'm 30 weeks today!!! Eeek! I've been really looking forward to this milestone for some reason! I woke up this morning so excited! haha! I have the day off today so I'm going to work on my hospital pre-registration paperwork and look into finding a pediatrician. And @Mrs D has inspired me to work on some lists. It always feels better to have everything down on paper and there's nothing like the feeling of crossing things off!

@StbHisMrs: I'm sorry you fell! Good to hear that the baby is moving around a lot though. Hope your appt goes well today!

@sarbear: Ahhhh so exciting that you have a date for your c-section!!! And it's on my due date! Yay! What was your original due date?

@redsmarties: Sorry I brought on panicking on your end. As some of the girls mentioned I feel a million times better now that I have a list to work off of!!! There is definitely plenty to do - but I know I have plenty of time to do it in!

@skipper2010: We have picked our (he came recommended by like 4 people) but just need to go meet him and make sure he pans out!

@JamieLee: @redsmarties: Congrats on passing your tests ladies!!! Mine is in two weeks...stressing already!!!

I'm wrapping up my last week of work travel until LO arrives. Thank god too because the 3.5 hour drive has gotten worse and worse as my bladder gets smaller and smaller.

DH and I decided we'd lay low this weekend. I'm hoping to get some yard work done, buy some organization supplies for LO's closet and get the house cleaned/in order after being away for almost 3 weeks straight. We have a contractor coming Tuesday to install new interior doors in our upstairs hallway - such an annoying expense but I know it will look amazing. DH and I are also considering tackling a few more home projects (with the help of professionals) before LO makes her arrival. We have a bit of a fixer upper of a house (no major renos needed but definitely a house in need of TLC). We decided last weekend that we'd like to stay in the house through LO#2 (so 3-4 years min) which means we are now wanting to make it nice so we can enjoy it for that time frame. With a limited budget its tough figuring out what you can and cant do. Ugh!

@Sapphiresun: with DS, he was due the end of April and I believe we picked the pediatrician by January and had called them to find out what we needed to do once he was born. but I also took him to the same ped my nephew goes to, so we didn't interview. you can start looking now, if you're going to interview/tour the offices/staff/etc.

@StbHisMrs: glad to hear everything is fine after your little stumble!!! I missed the bottom step of our stairs Tuesday while carrying DS...thankfully I landed on my knees and was able to keep us all from smacking into the baby gate.

so it's official, my c-section is scheduled for August 1st @ 7:30am!!! 10 more weeks! everything looks good, passed my gestational diabetes test. she's breech, still, which doesn't really matter since i'm having a c-section anyways...but i'd love for her dome(which feels gigantic!!!) not to be pushing on my lung/liver making it wonderful to breath and get comfortable ha
also, with the heat my cankles are making their grand return
:o( i'm not happy about this at all. my doc told me to stay hydrated and to stay off my feet as much as possible...because that's easy to do with a 1 year old!

I can't catch up right now, way too exhausted. I st
art third tri tomorrow and I have been like walking dead for the last two weeks, all I want to do is sit on my butt and do nothing. Like that will happen!!
I'm taking my GD test tomorrow, and I'm nervous since I've had a huge sweet tooth this go round. Yikes.

Today after work I went into the store to get some milk, it rained all day and the floor was slick. I fell, right in front of the bakery lady, I'm so surprised they didn't make me sign a waiver form. I landed on my knees and my hands, it of course like everything I do that made my contractions start up again and I've had a couple sharp twinges. I think I'll be ok waiting until tomorrow morning during my appointment. Baby is moving just fine :)

@redsmarties: Yea! Congrats!

@Sapphiresun: People are super food-pushers! It's very odd.

I put in my garden this evening (well, half maybe) and my butt and lower back is protesting! I thought I was getting away pretty lucky before with only the odd twinge, but I think I may just have ruined myself! Flowers look pretty though...

@redsmarties: ugh, not bad... it's just annoying. I thought being pregnant all summer was going to give me license to sit around the pool and eat ice cream... unfortunately that's not the case. haha. It's a pretty regimented diet, (very specific things in very specific portions at very specific times that makes it not very conducive to still working a full time, unpredictable job) and I have to test 5 times a day and am now on 18 units of injection insulin. It's mostly annoying having to interact with other people, since I don't know if you noticed, but the food pushers are out in FULL FORCE when you're pregnant. "Oh, but here's a massive piece of cake for you, since you're eating for two" and if you decline it's like "oh, relax, you're pregnant, this is the only time you won't have to think about your waist-line", and I don't feel like my GD is necessarily everybody's business that I want to explain why I'm not allowed cake (at all, but especially not between meals). Annnnnnd I get ranty without my empty carbs. I lost 4 pounds in the first two weeks of the diet, and heard no end of crap about that at class today, since I was already at -1 net gain. But it's super hard to eat enough calories in lean meat and veggies to actually gain weight.

@JamieLee: Congrats! I do have to admit that the GD diet is pretty healthy. Have to get your full servings of veggies unless you want to starve!

@redsmarties: yeah, the anal retentive side of me just likes to be ready in advance, and know EVERYTHING possible. I know my mom and shop-a-holic aunt have bought a ton of stuff (My cousin said there's two rubbermaid totes at her house) it would just be nice to know exactly what it is so I don't waste money buying/using stuff they already have for 3 weeks before the shower. Hopefully they haven't wasted too much effort on a newborn wardrobe that I'll never use.

Yay for passing your glucose test!

Just got a call from the midwife - I passed my GD test! I was honestly really worried about this because of my PCOS. But apparently things went well!

@StrawberryBee: well, you just reminded ME that I have to fill out my massive folder of information for the hospital, AND book a visit. Good thing we're all looking out for each other, haha.
@Sapphiresun: Having a shower afterwards might be great - I mean, who knows what you'll TRULY need until after the baby's here!
@Mrs D: See, YOUR panicking is spurring on MY panicking. Now I'm feeling the need to get out my notepad (nothing like a good old pen-and-paper to do list!) We'll see what kind of insanity this weekend brings!

I haven't had heartburn too bad and not too much hip paint but I keep getting major sciatic nerve pain. I bent over to pick something up at work this morning and almost couldn't stand back up! I'm also planning to swim a lot this summer. My ILs (who live about 500 yards away) have a really nice in ground pool so I plan to basically live in when I'm not at work. Still need to get a maternity bathing suit though.

I did my three hour gestational diabetes test yesterday. I haven't heard back from the, yet so I just left the OB nurse at my doctor's office a message. I'm really hoping to hear back one way or the other, just so I can know once and for all. From what I've read about it so far, it doesn't seem like it'll be too bad if I have it and it would actually force me to eat better and maybe instill some healthier habits in me and DH. So I'm fine either way...it is what it is. Although the test itself sucked! I had such a bad headache all afternoon after the test and I was soooo hungry! I don't think it's fair to make pregnant ladies fast! Lol!

@StrawberryBee: Wise words lady, regarding birth/breastfeeding. I'm going to remember that

@JessKas: I'm with you. I'm more scared about recovery (like, we really need the old-school pads? Really) than I am about labour. Good luck with finding a new dr. It definitely stressed me out when I found out a few weeks ago that I didn't have an OB like i thought.

@Sapphiresun: I think my shower will be after baby comes. Kind of annoying, because it makes it harder to decide what to buy beforehand. But, I think lots of people are like your mom. They want to ooh and ahh over the baby, not necessarily make our lives easier. But what can we do? On the plus side, it's keeping me from buying anything that's not necessary. I've heard that having excuses to leave the house when LO is little is nice. So I imagine lots of stuff will be bought afterwards.

@Mrs D: I think once you've done your lists you'll feel better. I thought there was so much to do (this was a few months ago), but once I listed it all, I realized it wasn't that bad. It's really just a lot of shopping!

@Mrs Hedgehog: FWIW, I never feel like you are just a stalker. I think you belong here and can contribute whenever you like without feeling awkward. :D

@StrawberryBee: I'm thinking that swimming will be awesome too. I bought a mat bathing suit, so I'm going to make sure I use it!

I've only had twinges of heartburn so far. I've been getting it since I was 12, so I've got a pretty good handle on what the trigger foods are. I'm hoping I can control it with diet, because Tums do nothing!

@Mrs D: You're kind of giving ME a panic attack here... but good luck, and my lazy butt will definitely reap the benefits of whatever you post to share!

@Mrs Hedgehog: The conversation moves SUPER fast here, doesn't it? I thought I was pretty good about keeping up with threads on WB by checking in at least every couple days and responding, but these ladies, WOW! Blink and topics are started, answered and over, and you're the awkward one who's like... referring to that post 3 pages ago...

@StrawberryBee: I sucked it up and bought the huge pads on sale last week at the grocery store. I haven't seen those things since the late 90's... Even when I got them home, my husband was like, "wow, that's a bulk size pack of pads", and I was like, "Nope, just 24!"

@greenebee: Definitely not alone and not a weirdo! I am more scared of the post partum recovery than I am of actual birth!

@JessKas: Heartburn has woken me up at night too! It's CRAZY. Same as you, fine during the day and as soon as I lay down at night BAM, heartburn. ugh!

I've also been trying to make lists for hospital bags and recovery items! It's so scary and I've thought about how to reverse this a few times, seems to be too late though! haha!

Also just got confirmation that the glider shipped and should be available to pick up on Tuesday (I had it shipped to store...I'm cheap. Planning on making sure the color's okay while I'm there so I can just turn around and return it if it isn't ;))

@JessKas: Congrats on your husband's new job! Maybe the change in prenatal care will all be for the best. "I'm slightly horrified by the thought of purchasing huge pads and hemorrhoid remedies." I'm in denial. Completely. These things will not happen/be needed. Nope.

I want to join a swim club. If for no other reason than it sounds like it would be so nice to just float and be weightless for a while for the next few months. On the plus side, no hip pain this morning!

Ladies, I just wanna say, I am terrible at actually posting on here. I am, admittedly a stalker. (I always come in so late to conversations and feel weird butting myself in!) But you guys have been awesome! Seriously! Whenever I feel like I a going crazy over something I come on here and realize I am not the only crazy one! lol.

@JessKas: Prilosec!!! Seriously! My OB has me on it because without it my heartburn is unbearable and makes my morning sickness (which is still here... yay? One of the rare "lucky" few!) worse. Ask your Dr. about it. It has seriously been a life (and food) saver!

August Mama's....I'm having the predicted panic attack I mentioned yesterday. Luckily I am traveling for work this week and have my evenings to freak out in the peace and quiet of my hotel room. Anyways - to calm myself I am clearly making lists and spreadsheets. I am going to scour the blogs on here and other sites tonight to build potential checklists/packing lists for the diaper bag, hospital bag, baby toiletries and mama toiletries (all those TMI products) - so I'll happily share once I am done compiling! Just wanted to throw it out there to save any of your time who may be starting to do something similar.

I'm also re-building my freezer cooking plan and my baby clothing plan now that I have a better feel. I'll share those too...

See its good to have an OCD, psycho planning excel obsessed auditor in the group! :)

@delight: Ahhh - so awesome you beat DH!!!! Unfortunately I dont think that is ever in the cards for me, DH is like a 4 handicap and I am like a 36 - so maybe I'd get enough strokes to beat him. I did almost get a hole in one last year (like a foot away) and DH - who has yet to get one - proclaimed he'd quit golf if I got one before him!

I asked my Dr the other day (on DH's request) if it was safe for me to play golf and she said that pregnant ladies often play their best rounds because the belly holds our posture right for a great swing! Sounds like you definitely experienced some good golf so maybe she was right! I haven't been out yet but we are planning to go to the range this weekend and try my swing out!

@redsmarties: That's exciting! Nice to have the shower before baby's born to know what you'll still have to buy. I can't believe the price differences in all this stuff either. Luckily we're close to the border too, so we pop across frequently to pick stuff up way cheaper.

@Alivoo01: Easy to say "relax" when you're not the one who's business is being cut!

@JamieLee: Good job! The hamper turned out super cute!

Any "grilled cheese" people (or anybody for that matter) having their shower after baby is born? My mom's super against us having a shower before since "people won't know what to buy" and all protests that bottles, gear, diapers, are all purposely gender neutral is not deterring her. She lives 5 hours away, and I kind of think maybe she just doesn't want to waste a trip where there's no baby to snuggle... haha.

Oh man I had a busy weekend and its hard to catch up. August ladies are so chatty, I love it!

@.twist.: I registry stalk too... I did the same when I got married. Spoons were bought off my baby registry this week and I ran downstairs to tell DH. He's like, uh they are spoons...baby can't even use them for a long time. As for your hips hurting, mine have been too...but I got one of those big exercise balls and when I watch tv I bounce on it and rotate my hips in big circles. I've been sleeping better and having way less hip pain.

@Mrs D: was it you I was chatting with about golf?! I went out this weekend and it was great. Even beat the husband, how's that for embarrassment! Beat by your pregnant wife! I did notice that I was hitting my belly with the end of my driver on my downswing since its a long club, but otherwise it felt pretty normal. Definitely took a cart and it was only 9 holes :)

Hope everyone is doing well. I can't complain too much, just leg cramps but the massage therapist I'm going to is helping with that. Exhaustion is starting to kick in. I meet my OB next Tuesday and I have a shower on June 1st. It's a small shower with my book club and can't wait. We are doing our big family shower the last weekend in September. Crazy to think there will be a baby in my arms!

@JessKas: OMG I know about the postpartum stuff! I feel I have been seeing more and more about hospital and diaper bag prep and it stresses me out that I need to start worrying about that stuff.

Then I read the postpartum blog post today and wanted to cry at what the recover sounds like! :(

@.twist.: I'm totally guilty of registry stalking. The invites to my baby shower just went out and a couple of things have been purchased. It's so exciting!

The heartburn is OUT OF CONTROL! During the day it is fine, but it gets so bad at night that it wakes me up. UGH.

My husband just got a new job (hooray!) but it means my insurance just changed. I have to find a new prenatal care practice and it's super stressful. I feel like before we know it, August will be here and it will be baby time. I've started to really think about the hospital bag and post-partum supplies. I'm slightly horrified by the thought of purchasing huge pads and hemorrhoid remedies.

@.twist.: we had our first registry purchase yesterday-a Jumperoo! I will be registry stalking a lot because I had to put a lot of the same stuff on registries at two different stores because there is no Babies R Us near my house/where my first shower is so I had to do a Target registry too. So I will have to manually mark stuff as purchased on the opposite registry...lol. Too bad, I hate to see what people have bought...not!
