My mom was feeding a toddler and infants and I didn't want her to have to cook special veg meals, so I started cooking for myself at that point (this was in high school). At this time my stepfather was doing a lot of work travel, so it just made sense for us to fend for ourselves. We also played games right after a couple nights a week. I really loved that. DH works 2nd shift and so just the boys and I eat dinner together during the week. Life gets so busy. We've started family dinner time now with LO and I love it.
