Cute! I would get matching items for family if I found something I really like that I know they'd like too

Very cute! I don't understand why it would be bad to have matching things with your in laws. I think it would be nice to see something you like when you go to their house.

@Crumbs: A gnome? How neat! I don't know anything about Sweedish Christmas/Halloween that is interesting :)

Either way you should get them because they are super cute!

I think that is such a sweet gesture. I would never even think to get matching holiday decor for close family. But I think I would love going over there and seeing it on display!

@MrsTiz: I agree, but for some reason, they're very Christmasy here. The Swedish traditional Santa figure is a gnome.

For Easter I got them hanging witches with a porcelain face to hang on the window. It's another cultural thing - they have witches for Easter instead of Halloween :)

Omg those are adorable! My mom loves gnomes, lol. I'd be annoyed only bc of the taste involved (in my situation) but if it was something I liked I wouldn't mind!

Those don't really even seem holiday ish to me. They're just fun and whimsy, so I wouldn't see any problem getting them for MIL. We have matching home stuff!

When I like something seasonal (like a holiday knickknack) I tend to buy one for everyone. With my close friends back home, it's just what we did! I've done it before with MIL and SIL during Easter and they seemed to love it! But before I get something else for Christmas, I have to ask:

Do you think having matching decor with your in-laws is a nice gesture or a pain? Would it annoy you? It's not anything massive, it's just a trinket here and there.

I'm thinking of getting us these little mushroom and gnome salt & pepper shakers. It actually matches SIL gift that I got her but I know MIL would love them and I like them too!
