It wasn't realistic to start trying though until I was 27 (hubs and I finally lived in the same city full time, we bought a home, we had ample stable income,etc). DH and I started dating when we were 22, so at a certain point, the math for having kids before we got too old started going (ie, we should be engaged by 28 if we want time to have at least two kids before 35 and have some time after the wedding before starting to try.)<br /> We got married at 29, and about a year later the baby fever hit really bad, but didn't start trying until I was 31. I used to play with dolls when I was a little girl and used to stick a pillow up my jumper, pretending I was pregnant. </p> <p>As an adult, I've never been gooey over babies. I know I never stopped wanting children - I dumped two longish term boyfriends while in my twenties because they said they never wanted to have kids - but it was always a "one day in the future" kind of dream. It still is, in a way, but at 31 I felt like my time had started running out (I want three!!)
