I may have posted something later in the day when my induction was just starting. Then my husband posted that she was born 36 hours later with a (terrible!) picture of me holding her. When I was around 7cm and we were certain DS was on his way DH posted something like "we're going to have a McBebe today!" on my Facebook. He also called my dad and stepmom around the same time, text-updated my BFF SIL (who would have been at the hospital but she couldn't get out of work). I had texted my MIL/FIL also around the same time that they could come by if they wanted (my epi was still working then and I was feeling goood) and once they were there they periodically updated my BsIL. </p> <p>I also updated here, lol!</p> <p>ETA: FB and my parents just got a general "in labor, baby'll probably be here today". Our siblings got "9 cm, broke her water" sort of updates. I was fine with who was told what. Also my boss since I was finishing up a work project at home when my water broke. The only person we told earlier was our friend who needed to come pick up our pup in the morning and take him to the kennel. She'll obviously tell my dad and my brother, which of course is totally fine, but she's not going to tell extended family or facebook. </p> <p>I don't care if my husband tells his side of the family, they're across the country so it's not like they can jump in the car and come to the hospital! I just want to avoid the risk of having a bunch of people piled up in the waiting room or blowing up my facebook, wanting updates. I don't really understand how/why people update their facebook during labor... I just think I'll have more important things to focus on than my news feed and status updates, but to each their own!</p> <p>Who did you tell or plan to tell, when you go into labor? </p>
