Going to the beach this summer...LOs will be almost 14 months. Should I have a hooded towel or poncho towel for them? Do the normal bath ones from, say, carter's work or is there something different about pool/beach towels?

You're fine with whatever. We have hooded towels for baths and swimming classes because it's easy to wrap them up, but for the beach we usually use just a regular towel. Once my kids got a bit bigger and were walking around I got some poncho towels so they can walk around wearing them.

Same as above the poncho kind is nice so they can walk around wearing them and holding your hand- we happened to have one when my LO was a little older than yours and doing swim lessons. But really just get what you think is cutest.

We get the $5 ones from target! Just your basic kid sized beach towel but cheap and no tears if something happens to it

@meadow: I would say that the baby towels from Carters are probably too small. You want something that is big enough to really wrap them up when they are wet or need some time out of the sun.

We use whatever towel. Honestly, I love seeing a little one all bundled up in a big beach towel.

For beach/pool I like poncho so it's like a cover-up at the same time. For bath I like hooded!

I got DD a hooded terrycloth robe at Costco (looks like alligator / dinosaur) in a large size and we just use that. She is 22 months and I got a size 5/6 so it's massive, but just short enough so she doesn't trip once it's on her. We use it all the time!
