I just got an invitation to my 10 year high school reunion, which is a month away. I can't decide if I want to go. The reunion is about 4 hours from where I live now, I'll be 34 weeks pregnant at the time, and I'm not sure how interested I am in seeing everyone again. I have a few high school friends I keep in touch with, but everyone else I haven't talked to since graduation. I'm not sure if it's worth the trip.
Did you/will you go to your 10 year reunion? Why or why not?

I didn't go, I had ds1 2 days before the scheduled reunion!

We had another commitment the night of our 10 year reunion, so we skipped it. Honestly, I was newly pregnant and didn't want to go make small talk with high school friends without being able to drink a glass of wine. Ha! I did get together with some of my close high school friends that weekend when they were back in the area and that was nice, but sort of awkward. I joke with my husband that I keep in touch with the only person I really care about from high school... Him!

I didn't go! I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time and not interested. I heard only 10 or so people showed up

Mine is also this year. I'll prob go, but it helps that it's thanksgiving weekend so I'll be home anyway (I assume that's by design)

nobody in my year level bothered to organise a reunion. who needs one anyway, isn't that what facebook is for?

@FannyMae: Facebook does change reunions a bit. I no longer wonder what everyone is up to, because I feel like I see their FB updates all the time!

I did. It was fun to reconnect- actually have conversations not just Facebook.
My 20 year is in a month and I'm going to that too! At my 10 year I was as single as they come, but so were most of my friends. At this one, we're all married, most with kids. I live across the country so it's a fun excuse to go back "home" and see old friends...

I would have, probably, but my friend got married that weekend so I couldn't make the trip. I don't think I would make a 4 hour trip that pregnant just for the reunion, though, unless I really really wanted to go.
I skipped my ten year college reunion because I was 7 months pregnant, kept in touch with all the people I wanted to see anyway, and didn't feel like going and not being able to drink.

I didn't go because I was 49 weeks pregnant and I'm not close to anyone I went to school with.

I went, but I wasn't pregnant! It was all free, catered filet mignon and salmon with bottomless wine for me and DH! no dance, and it was for all classes having reunions (every 5 years) so you could mingle with tons of people. So it was worth it! I hope.to go to the 20th one too!

I did, but only to one event, and I live in my hometown. I wouldn't have traveled for it.

I went to mine (not pregnant) and it was a bust. Everyone had arranged limos and hung out in the groups they arrived in. I was not prepared for everyone to be hard core into their groups. I was glad I got to chat with one friend (the one I arranged to meet there) but didn't really talk to anyone else. I danced and drank spendy drinks but ultimately felt really disconnected from everyone. Meh.

I went and had a great time. I was about 11 weeks and not telling people really so my GF drank every drink that people got me! Ha. She got pretty drunk that night! It was less than 20% of our graduating class but the people that were there were excited to be there, so it was really fun catching up with people I hadn't seen in years!

Although my graduating class was rather large (700,) it was a bbq held at a local park and there was little interest. I don't regret not going. Maybe to my 30 or something.

I voted that I didn't go, but I actually have no idea if there was one. I have ZERO interest in seeing any of those people though. I'm in touch with the two I care about, and that's it as far as I'm concerned. DH was considering going to his (I was supposed to be about 38 weeks at that point), but then we lost R so he had no desire to go in the middle of dealing with that.

I didn't go - I was living in Australia at the time and certainly wasn't going to fly all the way home for that! I have my best friends from HS that I still see but anyone else I really couldn't be bothered with.

I went, grudgingly, and ended up having a blast. Wasn't pregnant though... The drinks made the evening more fun for sure.

I just skipped going to the 20 year reunion. LO is 8 months and the reunion was 2 hours away. I had 1 friend that I really wanted to see but she ended up stopping by my home to visit on her way home a few days later. It sounded like I did not miss much.

I skipped both 10 and 20. Ours was 5 hours away and I'm not pregnant, just have a busy life and a 3 year old.

If it wasn't 4 hours from home and you weren't 34 weeks pregnant, I'd say go. But I don't know that I'd be comfortable traveling that far late in my pregnancy.
