DS will be 3 by Christmas! He’s already mastered the concept of seeing something and requesting that it be added to his list So far he’s asked for that black tape that makes a road, Swedish Fish, a small 6 piece LEGO kit that makes a race car, and this weird toy he saw on tv that’s like a surprise egg or hatchimal but it’s in a plastic banana 🤷♀️

DD will be 18 months just a few days after Christmas. We are going to be giving her Little People (Disney princess, TBD based on cost), a hair brush, toothpaste, hair bows, and a book. Maybe (and that is a big MAYBE) some fruit snacks.

@wrkbrk: Where did you find the small lego kit? DS1 would probably love that.
I am loving the holiday threads because I don't have a lot of good ideas yet. For DS1 (3 years) he'll get socks, a new toothbrush, some type of candy or treat, a random pick up from the target dollar spot (a ball/balloon thing), and the worlds smallest vacuum (tiny dustbuster that I found in PBK and he's obsessed with ours), and a new thomas engine (I bought a bunch of them used and have been doling them out at holidays).
DS2 (10 months) - new socks, yogurt melts, puffs, new plastic bowls (basically all stuff that I would have bought anyway)

@wrkbrk: My MIL got into the essential oils and made a bedtime spray for DD that she likes. I don't know if it works per se but she likes using it. I think it's just lavender and maybe distilled water? The spray bottles are from Amazon (2 or 4oz sizes). I might ask her to make another otherwise just buy online... I've heard of people making a "monster spray" too if your kid is afraid of things (monsters, darkness, etc.).

@LindsayInNY: I love the idea. We also diffuse essential oils and make some in small spray bottles. We could easily create a bedtime one for him!!

Books, bath toys (major need new ones and I'm holding out till Christmas), slippers, caved and bought the small hatchnimal eggs cause it was on sale, got some small Disney princess toys on clearance a while back too. Oh and I saw Twisty Pets on TV and I think my almost 4 year old will really like it.

@wrkbrk: Last year they came from Target but I actually see a bunch of cute/cheap ones from Walmart!

@snowjewelz: I’ve been pleasantly surprised with Walmart. They have excellent toddler socks. Cheap and thin enough (I hate thick socks for wearing inside tennis shoes)!

@gotkimchi: Is that St Nick’s Day? Fun! I need to look up that tradition ...

@wrkbrk: yah st nicks! He comes the night of the 5 so on the 6th is when we do stockings. That’s what we did growing up - might be sort of regional? But I like that it spaces things out a little
