DS just turned 6 months a week ago, and we've attempted purees 4 times since then, with the same result every time. We give him a bit of puree on a spoon, he is happy / likes the taste / takes more. But when he finally swallows whatever is in his mouth, he immediately projectile vomits up everything that was in his stomach, even if his last bottle was hours earlier.

At first I thought maybe it was a gag reflex still being too far forward in his mouth type of thing, but watching him more closely the last couple of times it really seems to be tied to the swallow specifically. He's formula fed if that helps, so used to swallowing from a bottle just fine.

Have you had a similar experience? Did your child just grow out of it or is there something we should be doing to help?
