My nearly 8 year old niece asked for books for Christmas. She has been reading The Hardy Boys, but already has many of those books. I am looking for suggestions for a book set that is mystery or adventure within her age group.

The boxcar children is great.
Also love the Narnia books but those might be a bit older....
If she likes horses the black stallion books are amazing. Also the misty of Chincoteague books.
The thoroughbred horse books are also great.And black Beauty is a classic even if she isn't in to horses

I'm an avid reader so I've read all of these and moreThe borrowers is also a good series.
The Mennyms is also awesome but definitely in the older kids age bracket. But one to write down for her later
