Have you heard of this? I just saw it pop up in my blog feed. Very interesting concept. The video was fantastic to watch and the gentle c-section process was so fascinating to see!

That's incredible! Now I know what my babies looked like being born!
Not for me, though. They asked if I wanted to see and we both said no, keep that drape up! I didn't even want to see the surgical tools walking into the OR. I'm more squeamish than I thought!

I would love to have a gentle / family centered C section if I have to have a RCS. I would rather VBAC but the chance that I would end up with another "emergency" C section makes me almost want to schedule one so we can ensure skin-to-skin etc.
I am not interested in watching any baby come out of me surgically but I would like to be able to hold & nurse my baby in the OR.

That's so cool! It seems like such a thoughtful way to structure the caesarian. I would have loved to have seen the baby come out if I had a C section (though I'm not very squeamish).

I have no interested in seeing baby come out of me, but I would like to have skin to skin contact and nurse right away. I know that in our hospital I can't hold her until I'm out of recovery due to the risk of falling asleep/dropping her which made me a wreck last time.

Like @daniellemybelle: @LuLu Mom: I wouldn't want to see the baby being removed surgically (more about seeing my guts than the baby), but I would love to have skin to skin and be able to try nursing right away. I hated that I didn't really get to hold Liam for 2 hours after my c section.

I'm hopeful I will get some of this with my RCS. My first was an emergency and I wasn't able to hold my daughter until after recovery. My OB assures me that I will get her much sooner this time, possibly in the OR, but certainly recovery.
I also have pretty much zero desire to see my baby be born.

The hospital that I work at doesn't currevrly do this, but I asked my OB about it and we are going to try it with my ERC in a few weeks (I am an NICU nurse and I know most of the staff that will be at my section personally and made sure everyone would be comfortable with trying it as long as babies condition allows)

I'm just going off the comments on here because I'm afraid to click the link since I do not want to see anything, haha! I would have died if I'd seem anything, but being allowed immediate skin to skin is the norm for c-sections at the hospital I delivered L at - I held him while they stitched me up and nursed him in the recovery room. With D I couldn't hold him right away because of some complications, but they put him right by my head so our cheeks were touching and I could talk to him, and I still nursed him in the recovery room.

I was too squeemish too watch. But, I think if I were to have another (and I'm pretty sure I'm not having more babies) I might watch. No quoting me on that, though!

I didn't see anything with my 1st. With my 2nd I noticed a mirror and asked about it. The nurse anesthesiologist moved it and told me when to look. I got to see my son be born. It was awesome. I didn't see any of the gory stuff - just my little boy being pulled out.

We were given the option of watching my section, but neither of us wanted to. My OB talked me through the entire procedure, telling us exactly when LO was being born, which was really calming and exciting at the same time. We did have immediate skin-to-skin though and LO stayed on me while they stapled me up. As soon as they were done we were taken together to our room where we had a private hour + together. More family-centered and women-centered sections are definitely the norm at my hospital; we didn't have to request any of that, it was just the way things were done.
