Beautiful Jaime King shares her struggles. I think it's so wonderful when public people are open in this way. Here is the link:

Awesome. I hate that she wen through all of that, but it's great that she put it out there to support others.

That is so much to go through and I'm grateful that she decided to share that publicly.

Wow, what a harrowing journey! I'm so grateful for people like her who work to normalize IF!

It's really nice to see a celebrity who's open about infertility.

She went through so much. I appreciate that she spoke out about her experience.

Thank you, Jamie. So glad she is putting it out there to make it better understood by society and to let other women know they aren't alone.

@spaniellove: I was surprised to read that too as I know most people are given a minimum number of IUI before IVF is suggested.

@MrsMccarthy: Even with that number of IUI's, she apparently still alive and okay and with her baby boy!
What a great little shout out of support to all those struggling with TTC. Love her now!

Wow, she gives me hope! I can't imagine doing 26 IUIs though... sheesh! I imagine she kept getting pregnant (5 miscarriages) so they were encouraged to keep trying IUIs.

@MrsMcD: yeah it made me love her too! As for the IUI my friend was told she could Only do to two or three, I guess it varies from doctor to doctor.

@MrsMccarthy: IUIs do not have a lifetime limitation. You can do as many as you feel comfortable doing. It's certain fertility medications you might take along with an IUI that are limited. Of course most doctors will recommend moving to IVF if IUI has not worked after a certain number or if other issues crop up.

@MrsMccarthy: it could have been her insurance company... mine 'suggested' I only do 5 or 6 before moving onto IVF, because both are covered, but there isn't technically a limit on IUIs.

@swedishfish: oh gotcha! So maybe they don't want my friend to keep taking the meds? I'm sure these things vary on a case by case basis.

@Shutterbug: that makes perfect sense! Thanks for educating me on the matter.

I'm glad she shared, I always appreciate when a public figure is open about their struggle to conceive. 26 IUIs is insane tho, she obviously had the $$ to do IVF, why didn't she go that route after 5-6 IUIs like most people do?? Very odd.

We could speculate all day long about what her and her doctors discussed. But really, its just great she got her baby and that she's sharing her story.

@MrsMcD: totally! And I never thought or meant to imply anything negative. It just seemed like a lot of IUIs. I'm so happy for her that she has a sweet baby and think she is just wonderful for sharing such a painful and personal experience.

@MrsMccarthy: Thanks for sharing. I wish I didn't make the mistake of reading the comments section at the end of these infertility stories. Just shows how ignorant and cruel people still are when it comes to infertility. It makes my blood boil!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: ugh, I can just imagine the disgusting things people said. As a rule now, I don't allow myself to read them. Makes me very angry.
I'm always happy when a public figure shares their IF struggles. People should know they aren't alone.

I saw this on the weekend and as weird as it sounds, I felt comfort from reading it. I feel horrible for her that she went through all of that, but it's always nice to know you're not alone. And, it helps when someone is so public with it.

Wow I feel like she literally went through every single problem possible! It is great that she's sharing her struggles; often Hollywood portrays pregnancy & motherhood as something so glamorous and easy, so it's nice to know that not everything is peachy for them just b/c they're rich/famous!

I read this and she's incredibly strong to not only go through that but open up and share her story, very cool!
