The saga continues with LO’s recurrent ear infections. One of his tubes fell out and he will undergo surgery to replace that one and at the same time get a fresh tube for the other one. His ENT also diagnosed him with enlarged adenoids and says his tonsils look enlarged too and we might as well get both removed. DH is not convinced the tonsils’ removal is a must. Removing the adenoids and tonsils are supposed to reduce the number of ear infections, which is great because LO detests ear drops. Since he’s had one tube in and one tube out he has to get oral antibiotics and ear drops. I’m having to bribe him with mini Chips Ahoy cookies to get the ear drops in.

Anyone else’s child get their adenoids and tonsils removed? Did it help with the symptoms? Did it help with the ear infections?

LO’s pediatrician appointment is next week and I’ll ask her what she thinks especially about the tonsils aspect.
