Am I pregnant????

Has anyone has symptoms before a BFP?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category... The DH and I are still a few months from TTC, but......

Last night I mentioned off-hand that I have had heartburn at night for the last two days (and that never happens)...He paused and said "Are you pregnant? You had heartburn at night with Ev."

It didn't even occur to me until that moment, but now that I'm thinking about it; I've been ravenously hungry (unusual), heartburn (unusual), moody (I plead the 5th).

I took a FRER this morning and it was negative, but based on my last period I'm probably only 5 or 6 DPO.

I also had light pink spotting this morning (also very unusual mid cycle for me)

Am I going crazy here???

It's always possible... this pregnancy I literally went and bought the test because I realized I was craving Ramen noodles (weird for me) and having insane vivid dreams (like me and my kids being hurt). And it was positive

@charlotte: Do you know how many DPO you were?? I'm sure 6 DPO is too early LOL

You might be pregnant but 6DPO is too early for a positive test and, probably, pregnancy symptoms. Especially if you've been having them for a few days. The egg needs to be fertilized, travel to your uterus, implant, start making hcg, and then have it increase enough to start affecting you.

I think if you have a negative pregnancy test then you aren't pregnant. You might turn up pregnant in a couple of days, especially if you had sex around ovulation without protection, but a negative pregnancy test means no HCG. FRERs have a really low detection level (I think like 5).

FWIW, I don't really believe pregnancy symptoms are present prior to a positive.. I think they are just regular every day symptoms that we notice and impute as potential pregnancy symptoms. The vast majority of pregnancy symptoms are caused by HCG and implantation has to occur for that to start being produced.

(I am well aware that the internet boards seem to heavily disagree with me about this)

@erinbaderin: That's what I was thinking too (in terms of too early) the only thing I thought is maybe I ovulated earlier (I haven't really been tracking)

but good point...If these are pregnancy symptoms then it should be a positive test.

@LBee: Yeah I hear what you are saying and I tend to lean towards that way too...I just thought it was weird because I wasn't even thinking about it but I do feel funny...

@luckylifemummy: I had spotting probably 4-5 DPO with DS and thought AF was coming but nothing came of it and a week later got a BFP!!!?

The earliest I've ever captured a positive on Wondfos or a FRER is 9-10 DPO. Symptoms doent usually start for me until 13-14 DPO. Seems like you have to wait and see (stinks).

@luckylifemummy: at 6dpo I had what I thought was horrific food poisoning (and may have been - I ate a sketchy lunch). Dreams 7-10dpo and positive test 11dpo. This is our third and after a few days of the dreams and noodles it clicked that I had done these crazy things before.

@FaithFertility: That's amazing! I NEVER spot mid cycle, except I had implantation bleeding with DD, so I'm interested to see how it turns out.

@azjax For sure, waiting sucks. I would normally write myself off as looking for symptoms, except for the fact that we were not TTC... I just feel weird.. lol

@charlotte that's what I feel like, like my body is repeating history...it's be 3.5 years since I had DD, so these symptoms are not everyday. lol

@2littlepumpkins totally hear you. I would roll my eyes at myself, but I think something is happening in there LOL

Thanks everyone for their help. Blood test today showed extremely low levels of Hcg and bleeding heavily. I have a follow up on Tuesday but looks like this one didn't stick
