I know that we're a little outnumbered here. Sometimes reading some of the threads makes me feel like I should wait another 5-10 years before hanging out on the bee I don't mean that in a bad way, just that I can't really relate to owning a home, having tons of money, etc.

DH and I are 23..he'll be a licensed electrician this summer, and I'll have my MA in may in marriage and family therapy. we decided to have a baby while we are renting, so we can afford for me to stay home. we'll be encountering student loans (45k) for me a year from now, and are working our bums off paying down some poorly spent credit card debt.

we *could* wait another 10 years, and own a home and have much, much more money in savings, but we just don't want to wait that long. all we ever hear from family is how we should own a home before having a baby, wait until we're older, etc etc, and it is extremely disheartening.

I was just hoping there were some other bees in similar shoes that could relate?
