We got a new book about a week ago called "Under Water, Under Earth" and it has been a huge hit with my 5yo. He's constantly looking at it and we'll read a few pages of it at a time throughout the day.

LO is 3.5 and LOVES the magic schoolbus books...I don't know how much science information she's absorbing, but she wants to read them over and over again.

@tinyperson: we haven't tried any of the Magic Schoolbus books yet, I'll definitely look for some!

She fell in love with Mo Willems' Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. I'm thinking about getting more of his books.

DD is 2.5 and has been loving the "My First Little House" series. She is super into farm animals and growing things, so these are perfect for her (plus it's a great intro to one of my favorite book series).

DD (3.5) is really into The Jolly Postman now. She also likes little box sets of five or so tiny books. MIL has lots of them and DD loves to take them all out, read them then put them back.

@caterw: I'd forgotten about those...I've just put them all on hold from the library! I think she'll love them.

Magic Treehouse books. We listen to them on our car rides and she just loves everything about them. My husband and I enjoy them, as well!

I second the Magic Tree House books. Thanks to @mediagirl: P really loves listening to the audio books and we're slowly growing our collection of the physical books. He loves looking at the pictures and retelling the story. It's amazing what details he remembers!

I got her a set of Beverly Cleary books and I see her reading those the most. She did like Magic Tree House when she was younger (just turned 6).

@tinyperson: @lamariniere: My nearly 5 year old gets to pick a book from the school library each week and I feel like we've been through the whole series! Last night was Magic School Bus Explores the Senses. Ms Frizzle is a hit in our house.

@tinyperson: Mine does too! I kind of despise reading them because there is so much text on each page but he loves them.

J loves "I Will Chomp You"
They were having a reading/book sale of it in JCrew and he loved it. I had to buy it and we read it almost every night.

Ok this is true but you are not going to believe it! LO likes to read a kid's dictionary nowadays. Just looks up words and reads the meaning.
As for recommendation, if your kids like dogs, Biscuit books are a favorite.

My 5-year-old has really been loving The Princess in Black books. She'll reread them frequently. I'd also like to get her the Toys trilogy. http://smile.amazon.com/Toys-Go-Out-Adventures-Knowledgeable/dp/0385736614/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462650309&sr=8-1&keywords=toys+go+out
