And if so, would you recommend it? Have you learned a lot? I'm determined to learn how to shoot my DSLR in manual, but reading the instruction manual is sooooo dry.

@grizz: I'm not, but I think I've heard of it. Is it only online? I would recommend taking a class in-person if possible. My DH taught me (he still takes most of our pics, though, because he knows way more than I do), but it really helped to be able to do it in person and actually work with the camera while he taught me.

I'm interested but not a member. Mrs. Chocolate wrote a blog post about it: http://www.hellobee.com/2014/02/05/photography-books-and-workshop/

I joined during their big holiday sale and have not really used it yet. It is really overwhelming - not as streamlined as the HB boards. I have heard their workshops and classes are excellent though. I have been taking a series of local in-person classes and reading blogs online to learn.

I just finished Shooting 101 First Steps with a DSLR and I enjoyed it. A lot was stuff I already knew, but there was definitely some eye-opening material, as well! I want to continue to 102 Mastering Manual Exposure but I think I need to upgrade my camera first -- my poor D50 isn't cutting it anymore. I haven't formally joined the forums, but you get forum access when you do a workshop so I've been reading up as much as I can. There's so much material there, it's kind of hard to wade through it all, but I feel like between the forums and the workshop, I've become a much better photographer just in the past few weeks.
