We just started yesterday, and I need some buddies. Is anyone currently in a Whole 30 or wants to start?

@Mrs. Blue: I'm going to rejoin you soon! I started January 4 and made it through day 12. I went away on day 13, and it was too much. But I think I will start again Feb 1!

I really should! A bunch of people at work do whole30. I need to lose weight super bad, none of my pants fit!

I'm starting February 1st also. It's my first time trying it, so I could def use some encouragement.

@maybebaby: any advice as a second timer?
@LovelyPlum: @Areem: yay! Glad to have you guys with me soon! I need the encouragement and accountability!
@matador84: Do it! I decided I had to tackle my baby/chocolate/wine weight. Plus, DH and I both are always having tons of cravings for awful things and we have no energy, etc. we're hoping this will be a good jump start.

It will definitely help boost your energy! I am on day 25 of my third Whole30. This time around was probably the most challenging for me because of what was going on during the month - business trips and getting our house ready to list (i.e., so many house projects to finish!) - but I am so glad that I stuck it through. For me, the weight loss is an added benefit, the main reason I do them is to get energy levels back to normal.

@sunshineandsushi: that's awesome! You're so close!!
@Mrs. Blue: you're on Day 4, right?? How are you feeling? Day 4 can be so rough. Are you on IG? Look at their posts from the beginning of the month. They do one for every day during the January Whole 30. They're super helpful.
@maybebaby: @Areem: what are you guys doing to prepare? Right now, I'm trying to eat clean for as many meals as possible, so it won't be such a shock. But yesterday my sugar dragon won, and I ate doughnuts. This morning is off to a good start, though!
So are you guys good at meal planning. I am definitively NOT. I need to get get better at it.

@sunshineandsushi: I really hope for energy increase, too. That would be huge for me. Good luck listing the house. That is SO much work!
@LovelyPlum: Yep, Day 4. I've had a couple mild headaches, and been a little grumpy and tired, but definitely not as bad as I was expecting considering how terrible we were eating, so I'm still waiting for the sky to fall. That said, I feel really good about what we're doing and my skin is already looking a little better, I think, so that's encouraging. I am on IG (bakingem), but I made an account for my whole 30 health venture so I don't make everyone sick of posts about veggies. :). That account is "thehousewherecrazylives"

@Mrs. Blue: hooray! I will follow you! My everyday account is lovelylittleone, but I need to make a W30 one, too. Will post when I have it!
Also, by "they" I meant the official W30 account.

@LovelyPlum: exactly the same really! DH has been having stomach pains after eating though we've both lost weight at least!

@Mrs.Someone: just curious if you were eating pretty healthy already. I feel like the results are probably less dramatic if you were either already eating healthy or just aren't particularly sensitive to anybody the foods eliminated. So, what's the first thing you're going to eat??
@LovelyPlum: I thought that was probably you! Can't wait for you to dive in with me!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Mrs. Blue: I wasn't eating healthy at all (which is why I'm doing it), but DH eats pretty healthy. I went GF while pregnant and didn't feel any different then either! I was super strict too.
We're thinking pizza Tuesday night, and most definitely dessert! I want chocolate cake, and I have 2 packages of cookies calling my name hopefully I can keep it under control!

One more day thing... Look for these at Target, totally compliant, and SO yummy.

@LovelyPlum: Actually doing the opposite of preparing for next week- trying to cram in a bunch of social eating related outings (I know it's only gonna hurt more). But I am doing a bunch of reading recipes and I got the official book.
Does anyone know of a compliant brand of Almond milk? Really don't want to have to make my own.

I so want to do this postpartum...will be following this post for ideas!

@Mrs.Someone: those look amazing!!
@Mrs. Blue: how are you guys doing? Day 7 for you all, yes? You're a week in! That's awesome!
@Areem: @maybebaby: you ladies ready??? I have my meal plan for the week on my fridge and feeling ready to go. I'm usually SO BAD at meal planning, but this week seems OK. I just need to go to Trader Joe's tomorrow on my way home to round out the grocery shopping.
I have a bad feeling that my Sugar Dragon is going to come out fighting tomorrow. I've had an insatiable sweet tooth the past few days. It's actually getting ridiculous, which is how I know W30 is the right way to go. I'm going to try to keep it in check with tea and Polar Seltzer (so much seltzer). But it may not be a pretty few days.
ETA: here's a pic of my meal plan. The things in parentheses are for my DH and LO, who are not doing W30

I'm ready!!! Fridge is stocked and prepped meal elements tonight! How can you make a second IG account? I don't want to annoy my followers but I like a visual record of what we've made.
pea / 11 posts
@LovelyPlum: I can't believe you are doing it without your SO that is a whole other level of discipline. Props!
Pulled out all non- compliant foods and hid them in the guest room closet. Frig is stocked. DH even made us a few compliant condiments!

@LovelyPlum: We're doing good! Yesterday was awful because of a bunch of other stuff going on and I just really wanted to emotionally eat and drink a lot of wine. But...we made it through the day without caving. That was legit huge for me because emotional eating is my weakness.
Seriously, though, this ish is expensive to do. I've got to spend waaaaayyyyy less money in the next two weeks because our grocery budget has been ripped to shreds in the last two weeks. Eek! I think I have most of the bigger stuff now, so hopefully that will help.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Mrs. Blue: emotional eating is my nemesis. And yes, this can get so expensive!! I did OK this week, but I've already decided that next week is going to be freezer week. I've got a bunch of stuff in the freezer and I'm going to try to make as many of them into meals as possible. That was part of my problem last time as well, but this time I am determined to make it work.
PS-remember that days 10 and 11 are the hardest...don't quit on those days!
I have such a headache today. I know that's the hangover, but ugh. So gross. And the BLOAT. Oh, the bloat. I cannot wait for this to go away.
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Areem: he's a good sport about it, though. He will eat what I make for dinner and keeps the non-compliant things for when I'm out of the house. His biggest complaint last time was that there wasn't enough food in the house, or that it all needed to be prepared (so no snacks or junk food). This time, I'm determined to make enough leftovers for that not to be the case!
@maybebaby: I signed out of my first IG account, then signed up for a new one with my phone number. It wouldn't let me use my email address again, since it was already associated with my main account.

@Mrs D: I have my babies early, so my guess is he will be here last week of March/first week of April.

Can I resurrect this?
Is anyone currently on the plan or has anyone done one recently and want to share results or your story?
I just started last monday. I am on Day6 and i feel amazing, but the cravings are really creeping in!! I want butter and bread!! I will hold strong though. I am already seeing results in my body shape an my energy level.
I am doing it to reset my palate, curb sugar cravings, and force myself to cook healthier, nutrient dense meals.

@maybebaby: tagging you too! I want to know how it went for you and also @LovelyPlum!

@yellowbird: I'm on day 10 right now. So far it's going fairly well. I'm finding it a bit overwhelming on the prep side as I need to basically have all meals for DH, me and my mom + something for DD and the baby. I've also had a few days now of feeling blue/glum and being absolutely exhausted. I'm hoping that lifts soon. We'll for sure see it through, I'm just waiting for the awesomeness to begin. I do think I'm starting to lose some weight though as clothes are feeling a little looser. Staying off the scale has been the hardest rule so far!

@Mrs Z OT: awesome!! We have so many more dishes to do now, but I've come up with some delicious food. I will normally serve the same thing for everyone but maybe supplement a little for Dh and the kids. They may have a roll, noodles, or cheese on theirs while I wont.
I just came up with a yummy non egg breakfast. I'm getting so tired of eggs!
Sliced banana, a little almond milk, drizzled almond butter, chopped pecans, and sprinkled cinnamon! So good!
