I have 4 tours coming up: 2 public pre-k this week, a pre-k center this wknd, and finally another public school next Tuesday. I've heard good things about all 4 schools but trying to figure out which one will be our first choice. Leaning towards our zone school.
Pre-k is free and you can apply to public and participating centers but you have to rank your choices in order.

We have a tour in Feb. Our town has public pre-k 3, and similarly you have to list your location/program choices in order and see where you get in.

They will be going to their zoned kindergarten. Never considered anything else since I know we're in a good district and have heard good things!

Probably but I haven't set anything up yet. Need to look into charter and private. Our zoned school is bad, so if we don't get into a different one in the district we will consider moving.

I went on a private school tour recently but I don't think I want my LO to start K at 4.5 so we will go with the local public school!

@regberadaisy: We assumed that, too but we have to look for other options because there are only a certain number of spots. We're not guaranteed a spot at our zone school for UPK.

We did school tours for kindergarten a couple months ago! Applications have been submitted and we're just waiting now!

Not currently, but we will be in the coming months. The lottery for the magnet school we want to get C into for kindergarten opens in October, so we need to decide what we want before then. For us to have any chance at getting her in, we have to submit right when it opens.

We only toured one school, the one we applied to for kindergarten. They had an open house in the fall.
