Through out my pregnancy we called her "baby."
Now that shes here I still call her baby, when talking to my husband about her. If I'm talking to her I call her sugar, sugar buns, big girl, baby girl...etc. we never call her by her real name.

No, it's not weird, but it will maybe take sometime to get used to, after all, for nine months she's been baby to you, and now you're essentially changing her name, even if she won't notice or remember.

I'm the opposite. We rarely call Wombat, the womb name, Wombat and usually use her real name or a new nickname. I think that's weird. She was Wombat for 9 months and now she's her name.

I think we are going to have to start using her real name more often or else shes going to be labeled baby.. Like in dirty dancing. "nobody puts baby in the corner"

I thought it was weird at first but I also thought being called her mommy was weird. Same thing when I got married, thought it was weird to call my husband 'husband. But now 6 months later I call myself mommy, I think of my sisters as aunts, my parents as grandparents and my daughter has grown into her name.

Nope. We called her Baby Bear (still do online) when she was on the inside, but call her her 1st name or nickname now.lol

To this day, my dad never (unless he's talking about me to someone not in the family) refers to me by name. I'm 32 and he still refers to me as "Redbird" or even "the baby" from time to time. It's sweet and cute- even if it's a little weird.

I call him by his name, more so now that he is older. When he was a baby, I would sometimes, but mostly it was nicknames. I have called him Pumpkin from day one, and that still has stuck.

I called her by name in my belly towards the end. But I do use a lot of nicknames. I feel like she'll be very confused to what her name actually is.

At this point before he is here, yes, it does feel a little weird converting from a nickname to a real name. But I guess we can't call him Wiggles forever...
