My youngest did! He scooted around on his bum for months. He hated being on his belly and would just flip on to his back and start screaming to be picked up and then eventually figured out how to get into sitting position and scooted around instead. I don't think crawling is even considered a milestone, just trying to get from point a to point b. He started walking at 12.5 months and finally figured out how to crawl shortly after that but only does it to play, not to get around.

Eta he could have walked earlier too but also just decided to do it one day and was running literally within a day of walking.

My son. Butt scoot until 17 months, then running like a crazy person. He has a killer core, now, from all of that scooting:)

DD never crawled. She did this hilarious bum scoot until she started walking. She didn't walk till 16 months - most likely she was afraid big brother will bowl her over when they're playing. This is still a problem...

It seems to be genetic, pretty much no one on my side of the family crawled. DS did, but only because he had physical therapy, and the therapist went out of his way to encourage it.

I love the bum scoot. DS scooted on his bum until he was 16 months old and then started walking. He crawled for maybe a couple days around 14 months. We actually had him in PT for walking because he qualified for early intervention, but in retrospect I don't think it was necessary, I think he was just waiting until he could walk without falling down.
