Just wondering if any hellobee gals got pregnant when they weren't actively trying. Maybe you were trying to prevent it, maybe you weren't trying reeeaaallllly hard to prevent it but it was still a surprise? Bonus points for which method of BC you were using when it happened.

Haha, I think I can safely say that we were definitely NOT trying for a second baby so close in age to our first! (They will only be 13 months apart.)
I was on the mini-pill, and because I had heard that it can cause accidental pregnancies we were being careful around the times I thought I was ovulating. Looking back, the only way I could have gotten pregnant is if I had ovulated a week late.

I actually was on Depo when I got pregnant, so no, we definitely weren't trying.

i got pregnant with charlie in one shot when we weren't trying the one time we didn't use any birth control. i even got obscenely drunk at a wedding afterwards because i thought there was no way i could possibly be pregnant!

that would be us! we were only married for 5 months before we found out we were pregnant. we were gonna wait at least 2-3 years into marriage... oops.

Only married for 2 months, and the pregnancy was a huge surprise. We were definitely caught off guard, but our little guy is the best thing that has happened to us.

I got pregnant with Mavi when we said we WOULD NOT get pregnant. I was checking my monthly calendar and that time around my cycle was 33 days long rather then my usual 28 so even the doctor was shocked.

Our LO is the result of a drunken night of "one time of carelessness won't hurt". Ha! Of course we knew better, but like I said, we were both hammered--judgement goes out the window. As soon as we found out, we knew exactly which night of mattress mambo was the conception date, lol.

Yep, I was trying to prevent and we didn't use anything. We figures after trying for 11months and nothing happening, once won't change anything.

@Wondermommy: Ours pretty much happened the same way! We weren't trying super hard not to have a baby but we weren't trying. Then one night we were drunk and didn't think clearly that it was the exact day I would be ovulating. And now here I am nine weeks pregnant.

DH and I had been trying, but then took a break and were preventing (condoms). My sister was planning her destination wedding, so we wanted to make sure there was a 3 or 4 month window so that the baby wasnt due right around her wedding and that we could travel. We ended up pregnant about two weeks after we stopped trying and flew with our five week old son to FL for her wedding. Now we're using condoms again to prevent, but now that I'm not breastfeeding anymore, I'll probably go back on some kind of BC pill.

We were not on birth control because we were planning to start TTC soon, but I was charting and testing for ovulation via OPK. We avoided sex the days before/of/after ovulation. Obviously natural family planning isn't for me!
