If so, what recipe do you follow? I'm seeing a ton online and don't know which one to go with!

I did for a while, just for use at home, and used a recipe similar to the one found here http://blog.earthmamaangelbaby.com/how-to-make-your-own-non-toxic-baby-wipes/ , but I added a few drops of tea tree oil as a disinfectant. I would mix it in the cup with the warm water and olive oil.

@MaisyMay: Thanks! There are so many recipes online, but I rather use one that I know someone had actually used!

I found them to be absolutely obnoxious and not worth the time, personally. But I had a frequent, messy pooper - that may have colored my feelings.

@sarac: I just feel like I'm using sooo much wipes due to BLW, and I'd like something with an extra oomph instead of just wet paper towels. I might feel the same way once I start making them, hah!

@Freckles: I guess it's just psychological that I feel like I need something more in the wipes? lol.

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I know that I used a lot of kitchen towels soaked in water to clean up my daughter after she'd eaten something messy. But for butts it was all disposable over here.

I use paper towel (and now cloth wipes) in water and baby shampoo. 2 Tbs baby soap and 2 cups water for a roll of paper towels, same with cloth wipes, but then I wring them out before loading my dispenser.

We do cloth wipes with just water. Lorelei has eczema, and I find that water works just as well, and doesn't run the risk of drying skin or irritating as much as soaps do. We got these wipes back when Lorelei was born and they've held up amazingly and continue to be the favorites: http://www.amazon.com/Blueberry-Swaddlebees-Piece-Cloth-Raspberry/dp/B004BDNJZU

I don't have any real experience but I know I've heard people (on here, I think?) cutting up receiving blankets or using flannel to make cloth wipes. I bought some cloth wipes but I would try blankets or flannel fabric that I have around my house before buying them. The ones I have are thicker... like thicker than wash cloths. They were more expensive.

Cloth wipes and a solution of 2 cups hot water, 2 tsp oil, and 2 tsp Burt's bees baby bubble bath. Super easy and works great. Also handy for a quick "sponge bath" if it's been a while since a proper bath (necessary in this hot weather sometimes).

I just use washcloths and water for clean up after eating, and disposable for diaper changes. If you're looking for something bigger than a washcloth, you can also use cloth diapers. I've been using those as burp cloths.
