I heard about Pre-seed on WB, I think. Anyone use it?
It's suppose to be a safe 'sperm friendly' lubricant. I told myself I would buy some once I started TTC but I haven't needed to buy it yet.

I've never heard of it and we didn't use it. What is the purpose of it? Is it somehow supposed to increase chances of pregnancy?

I have no idea if it helped but we used it and got pregnant.

The first month of TTC, I didn't use it and didn't get pregnant. The second month, I used it and got pregnant.

We used it too and are pregnant our first month TTC. I have no idea if helped though, as I used a CBEFM and was charting too.

We've been using their Pre lubricant for the past couple of months trying. I bought the regular PreSeed, but haven't used it yet because I've had plenty of natural lubrication this month, that it wasn't necessary. I asked my doctor about it. She said that it's a good one to use, but in general, lubricants still kill sperm. She told me to use water instead of PreSeed.

Hmm, I might see about picking some up. We've just been using a very tiny bit of Johnson's Baby Oil Gel with Lavender for initial lubrication. I'm not sure if that is really bad or not, but I haven't had any problems with it. However we were not actively TTC previously either..

We never used anything pre TTC - but I bought it to use while we were TTC - and we got pregnant while using it.

We were using it for a couple months and then I told my doctor about it. She hadn't ever heard of it and suggested we not use it.

For those of you who got pregnant, did you have a boy or a girl? I heard with pre-seed, you have high chance of having a boy. Probably has to do with the pH of the lubricant, since I heard there are ways to conceive a girl if you lower your pH in your va-jay-jay. While boys need a slightly higher pH. I forget what this theory is called but it's interesting.
@Boogs: I copied this from their website...
Unfortunately, “everyday” personal lubricants can damage sperm. This includes other leading “nonspermicidal” lubricants and even saliva or water. Numerous medical studies have suggested that these products should not be used when you are ready to become pregnant.
Traditional lubricants harm sperm because they have the wrong pH and are not isotonic (they have the wrong ion or “salt” levels for sperm). Some also have ingredients in them which are toxic to sperm, such as glycerol (glycerin).
You can read the rest here. http://www.preseed.com/pre-seed-difference.html
ETA; Oh, I ended up buying some through Amazon last night. I figure I should get some just in case I need it.

I've heard of this but never used it. Is it needed if lubrication isn't a problem? Or is it something that promotes pregnancy regardless of lubrication?

@ecogirl: I didn't get it before because I don't really need lubrication. But since we may start try really hard to get pregnant this cycle, I may need the lubrication.
I'm glad those of you who got pregnant with it, had a girl. I want a girl while my husband wants a boy. This will be our first, so I don't care what we have.

We used it because I have always needed help with lubrication and would just use plain ol KY. when I read it could be harmful to sperm I bought the pre-seed. I do have to say (maybe tmi).. my husband complained about the "feel" of it.. and a tiny drop went a LONG way.

@Orvis18: Wow, you were really ready to get pregnant! Charting, CBEFM and PreSeed all in the first month? And you got it done - congratulations

@tejbee: do not use the lavender oil anymore! It can disrupt your vaginas ph and cause bv. Use preeseed or there is an all natural safe to sperm lube that whole foods vitamin shop carries.

I bought some yesterday after reading this post. Gotta say, the feel is a lot different than KY, it felt less sticky and smoother. A little goes a long way. I didn't use the applicators that came in the box, but I read today on the website that use of the applicator is what helps mimic cm in the cervix area. So i guess we used it wrong. We'll see if it works in two weeks!

Tried it for a few months, but was not using it the month we got the BFP. Took me a while to find it, finally found it at CVS.

Month 4 of TTC, just started using it this month after hubby did some research on it, we'll see if it helps...
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
We used it for about 4 cycles, and of those 4, got pregnant during 2 of them. I can't say whether or not our BFPs were connected to the use, especially since I didn't use it every single time we had sex during my fertile window (except for this last time, because we only had sex one day, two days pre-O, and used it) but the extra lubrication definitely made things more comfortable.

I just went in for my annual exam and when I told my OB that we were going to TTC, she immediately recommended Pre-seed. I suppose I need to go buy some! ;o)

I've used it, but not gotten pregnant yet. However, like MrsLilybugg I was not using the applicators. You bet this month I will be sure to use them as well!!!

When I shared with my OB that we were going TTC in the NY, she quickly recommended the PreSeed lubricant. I suppose I need to buy some, eh?!

I used that and Fertile CM and got my BFP the first time. Then miscarried. This time, I have been using it occasionally but not everytime.

We have used it this month (cycle 2) and I like it. I ususally need help with lubrication and it isn't as sticky as KY or others we've tried. Hopefully it helps get a BFP!
bananas / 9227 posts
We used it and got pregnant. Don't know the gender yet though =) Be sure to apply it beforehand (I think the box recommends 30 mins) because I could definitely tell the difference. Also, you might want to use a lot less than directed, like half or a quarter the amount of the applicator.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
We use it. We definitely need some sort of lubrication so this is the best option for us. We used it without the applicators before my O and used it with the applicator during my fertile window (like a pp said that's the best way to have it mimic CM... my CM is a little low this month because I was on decongestants for a cold at the beginning of my cycle). This is our first month TTC so I'll let you know in two weeks if it worked for us : )

Awesome! Thanks for sharing I've never heard of it & we got pregnant without it but maybe for baby #2
apple seed / 3 posts
My husband and I didn't use it the first two months of trying, but used it in the third and I got pregnant. Don't know if it helped me get a BFP, but it certainly didn't hurt! We are having a girl.
