My baby is 5 months old and for the last couple weeks wakes up with a stuffy nose. He is starting to get chapped lips because he has to breath through his mouth. We have a humidifier in his room and try and clear out his nose as much as possible.
Any ideas on what to do for his chapped lips? Poor guy gets this from me.

Hmm, I'm no doctor and can't say if this is good for a baby, but i know when my lips are chapped, I put vaseline on them before going to bed. Maybe that can help? If not I've seen natural lip balms for babies. But no clue if its any good.

Aquaphor is an option. Also, Earth Mama Angel Baby makes a product called Natural Nipple Butter (lanolin alternative for breastfeeding moms) that is also good for chapped lips. Totally safe for ingestion.

Olive oil or Crisco are home remedies. My toddler has a stuffed nose right now, too. Feel so bad for her!

Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter. I swear by the stuff. We use it on lips, cheeks, hands (bc shes gnawing on them from teething, I dont want them to start getting chapped) and nipples.

I heard the natural lanolin that works on nipples is also great for baby's lips. Especially ones that dont need to wiped off nipples before feeding like Lanisoh lanolin.

@pelikila @livsmama where do u buy earth mama angel baby products? I've heard so many good things about them too. I think they are at Whole Foods, but let me know if there's a place that's cheaper! thanks!

I was told to use Lansinoh lanolin for my chapped lips and it works great. I bought the kind that is in the baby aisle so I'm sure if it's okay to heal breasts then it should be okay to put on your LO.

100% without question, I recommend Badger Baby Balm. Here's the list of the all organic ingredients:
*Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), Essential Oil of *Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile), and CO2 Extract of *Calendula Officinalis (Calendula).
It is also great for cradle cap, diaper rash and dry skin.
