Just wanted to pop in and say CONGRATULATIONS to you ladies!!!!

I'm definitely in fear mode and I don't know when it will stop. I'm thinking after we have our ultrasound around 9 weeks. Our miscarriage was around 8 weeks.

Just got back from my first doctor's appointment - nothing too exciting. Weight and urine test. The nurse totally freaked me out by testing my urine then coming into the exam room and asking if I was SURE if was pregnant. I said that I'd taken three tests and all were positive. She left and came back a few minutes later and confirmed that there was a line it was just a little light. I knew this might happen, as I've read that doctor's office tests are less sensitive than FRERs, but it still freaked me out.

Then the nurse just asked a bunch of questions, reviewed my medical history and gave me a giant information package and information about genetic screening.

Then the doctor came in and reviewed my medical history in further detail and answered any questions I had. I told her that I lift heavy weights (I go to a Crossfit style gym) and she told me I had to stop. So now I am confounded, because I have read the exact opposite advice in a million places (keep doing what you're doing, so long as you were doing it for awhile before you were pregnant). So, I was a little miffed about that, because she didn't seem very knowledgeable about exercise during pregnancy.

She was kind enough to listen to my crazy anxiety about miscarriage and told me she doesn't think I'm at any higher risk than anyone else (I was worried about a progesterone deficiency).

After that, I got sent across the hall for some blood work. The lab tech must have thought I was a crazy person, because as she was taking my blood she told me she has three kids and they are worth all the blood tests, pain and headaches in the world and I totally started to cry...yay hormones!

That's it. I go back at the end of the month for a physical.

EDD: April 3, according to online calculator based on ovulation

First child?: Yes, besudes my 2 fourlegged kids...

Any feeling about boy/girl: i told DH i had a feeling it was a boy but as long as "frijolito" is healthy i am fine with either...

First doctor's appointment: August 21

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: nothing really just hungry and dont really care for meats...

Who have you told?: my sister, parents will know tomorrow and then the siblings by this weekend...

@gingerbebe: the caffeine thing is feasible. It's hard to stop cold turkey, I always get headaches and nausea when I do!!

I'm feeling good. Boobs still sore and my temp is still up. I'm not temping regularly, just every few days when I feel paranoid!!! I'd really like to forget I'm pregnant for the next few weeks so they go quicker!!!!!!!

@sslm: YAY...

do any ladies have any "soreness" in your pelvic area....i have a mild throbbing (not painful) feeling on the right side...not sure what it could be...maybe its just my body preparing for the coming months...

@Mrs. Blue: For me it's 11:30am!!!! The day feels so long because of that.

Hi ladies!

Nothing really happened today. My appetite has been kinda weird. All I really want is meat or dairy or fat or broth. So my meals have been like...beef jerky for breakfast at my desk, sausage at lunch, boiled egg or cheese for snack, some kind of meat or brothy soup for dinner. I have no real food aversions per se, I just like crave a lot of protein and fat I guess.

@Mrs. Blue I have the 2pm fatigue too! I started feeling a little lightheaded or dizzy and so sleepy. It starts to creep up around noon, probably after I eat, but by 2pm its like I just wanna fall asleep on my keyboard. I also think I implanted on my right side because that's where I felt ovulation and implantation pains on the right side, and every now and then I feel a slight stabby feeling on the right.

I've been having some light cramps off and on but I've read its normal and that actually a lot of times, its could be constipation or gas. Now that I think of it, given what I've been eating (and the lack of coffee), I guess constipation could be a factor.

As tired as I've been, I haven't been sleeping that well. But I think it might be because my husband has been away on business and I stopped taking melatonin after I got my BFP. I think its safe, but I see different stuff all over the place, so I just decided to stop taking it since I'm already cutting out caffeine.
Oh! And my boobs are so sore! Well, its like just my nipples. They are sore and huge. In fact, I think I need to move over to nursing bras or wireless bras or sports bras. I already bought 2 maternity tank tops from Target because they are SO SOFT and stretchy. (Only $12.99 each too!)

Sorry to ramble so long. I'm just trying to keep my mind occupied until our appointment next week. We had a bad first ultrasound with our last baby (found out at 10 weeks that we had a missed miscarriage - the baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks) and so I'm antsy for next week to get here.

@sylvie_b: congrats and welcome!!!! You should add two weeks, so you're actually more like "almost 4 weeks" they date things from your last period. At ovulation they already consider you 2 weeks pregnant. Makes no sense but hey!!

Hey, ladies! So far an online calculator has told me that I am due on March 31, so I thought I'd introduce myself over here. I've already said hi to the March ladies.

DD: March 31, 2013 (I think. That's what one website says)

How far along?: 6 Weeks tomorrow.

How long TTC: We got pregnant the first cycle, hence the shock.

First child?: Yes

Any feeling about boy/girl: Doesn't matter.

First doctor's appointment: August 15, although I had scheduled a routine physical with my GP way beforehand and that was on August 1. I did a bunch of testing on Thursday morning, and I should get the results soon.

How do you feel?/Symptoms so far: I am.so.hungry...all the time! It's like I'm on a baby's feeding schedule. I feel a little queasy sometimes and just not myself. My breasts hurt so much.

Who have you told?: Nobody. We're waiting. We'll probably wait as long as possible. I'm super private, and we don't live near family, although one of my friends is going to kill me since she specifically asked me to tell her when we started TTC. Oops! We got pg the first try. I've been avoiding friends lately because I don't want to lie about not drinking. I'm hoping to use the antibiotics excuse for the first time depending on who it is.

I'm just trying to relax and not worry about things going wrong since it's so early. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend so far!

@BKCaribBaby: welcome, welcome lady! I need to use your "antibiotics" not drinking excuse. I've been throwing out drinks when people aren't looking and claiming sparkling water w/ lime is my usual vodka soda! Lol

Hi ladies. Sorry to be a bummer, but I think I'm MCing again. I woke up with brown spotting and went to the ER and the doctor really couldn't see much on the ultrasound and my HCG level is quite low. We'll do a 2nd beta on Monday, but as soon as I came home from the hospital I started to get red spotting. My boobs seem smaller and not really sore today either, so it seems like all the signs are pointing to a miscarriage. We are dealing with it okay, but obviously feel a bit disappointed. Hope all of you have happy and healthy pregnancies and I hope to see you around soon.
