@mrs.pen: i live in MPLS and have been doing some major couch shopping/purchasing lately because we basically had no furniture when we moved into our new house. we ended up with an article one, a west elm one, and an arhaus leather one (along with other furniture from the other biggies...room & board, C&B, etc). happy to let you see/compare in person if you want!
in all of my research/talking to friends/etc, the only one i wouldn't do is RH. i haven't heard good things about their quality. i will say that Room & Board has, by far, the best, nicest, most helpful delivery people!
not sure if it's in your budget (or preferred style), but i actually think that leather is a great option if you are buying a couch that you want to use a lot and have kids & pets. it's way easier to keep clean and looking nice than any of the various fabrics we have had!
