Are you a Tea Drinker?

I love coffee, but I love tea, too! My favorites are Darjeeling or Assam, but I also love, love, love my green ginger (Tazo). I even love the green tea that pretty much tastes like grass clippings. I never put milk or sugar in my coffee or tea.

There's just something about making a pot of tea that is not the same as coffee.

I am not a hot tea drinker. I like cold sweet tea and thats about it. My husband is part British, he and his family drink a ton of tea.

Yes! Love tea. For plain tea I love Japanese green tea, a variety of Chinese teas, and Korean barley tea.

My go-to is always black tea w/ milk & sugar!

@.twist.: They are supposed to fill the hot water to the siren's eye on the cup, and a lot of places don't add the water at all, but that's what makes the chai spicy!

@.twist.: I love the SB tazo chai latte - addict tip: ask for no water, so much more flavor! A barista told me to order it this one day and I've never looked back.

I settle for the Keurig Cafe Escapes chai latte - but it pales in comparison.

I did enjoy the RRL tea, but I've found if you add enough honey to any tea, it tastes delicious

ETA: @Mrs. J: just saw you beat me to the punch!

I like coffee but tea is my first caffeinated love. I love Harney's teas. I gravitate towards cinnamon or holiday blends. I take it with a little milk, no sugar.

I love tea but am by no means a tea guru or even adventurous with my tea flavors. I tend to stick to the tried-and-true staples like Red Rose, Tazo green tea, and Twinings Irish breakfast or Lady Gray. I drink them hot or cold, usually black but I'll add milk to hot tea occasionally.

I did get wild once and bought coconut rum tea in the airport on my way home from a trip to the Bahamas.

Edited to fix crazy phone auto-correct typos.

@Cherrybee: @Travelgirl1: Haha, me too! No sugar for me though, just a dash of milk. I make my parents bring suitcases full of Sainsbury's "red label" tea, but if a crisis strikes and I'm out, the supermarkets round here carry PG Tips or Yorkshire - phew.

@Cherrybee: psh. You Brits dont know nothing about tea. Have you ever made it in a harbor instead of a kettle? Nope? Well, us Americans have, so we must have superior tea knowledge.

@snowjewelz: oh I like the Korean barley tea too! I should look for that next time I am at the asian grocer. Any particular brand you like?

I thought of another tea that I like... Hong Kong style milk tea. Yum...

@sunny: Hmm I don't know which ones we have, I just looove that burnt rice ish smell haha.

The funny thing is, I'm from Hong Kong and I do not like HK style milk tea lol! It's too dense/strong. So whenever I go there I actually avoid getting milk tea!

@snowjewelz: Me too. That's why I like the genmaicha. How funny that you don't like HK style milk tea and you are from HK! I can understand the dense-ness, but I think I like that about it

@sunny: I think I was too young to really enjoy milk tea when I lived there (before 13). Then I got used to the ones they make here w/ lipton tea bags & too much sugar I remember the 1st time I had HK style I was like EWW what is this?!

@gingerbebe: wow! you really know your teas!

@TRAVELGIRL1: with a few shots of Bailey's? HAH! Jk. I like myself a good, big cup of tea after any type of trouble.

@BLUESTRIPED BEE: all we have here for fancy iced tea is lipton's. There might be others but nothing super fancy like I'm always hearing about in the USA.

@sunny: oooh, that roasted rice green tea sounds pretty tasty. I wonder if I can find that here!? Also, your friend, green tea with sugar?

@mae: earl grey is my fav! Report back with your thoughts!

@LOVEISSTRANGE: I have never even heard of the second type of tea in that fancy earl grey. I have so much learning to do in the tea world.

@BOHEME: those tea canisters remind me of a tea pot I have and you buy special tea bags which BLOOM in the water. They are gorgeous!

@SLEEPYMONKEY: I love honey in my tea. Much tastier than sugar.

@Espion: I find tea (even of the black variety) to be much more calming. I want to relax and read a book or curl up by a fire. I don't drink coffee but I feel like it is a power drink. DRINK AND GET DONE ALL THE THINGS! hahaha

@Mrs. J: @BakerBee: Thanks for the tip ladies! I will make sure to mention it the next time I go for some tazo chai!

@MapleMoose: I am like you. A simple kind of tea lover. Tried and true.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: Those are some fancy teas! The mojito green sounds REALLY interesting. I'd love to try that one.

@.twist.: I would send you a sample, except I'd be afraid that it might be mistaken for something else green...

You should be able to find it at an asian grocer. Look for the tea with the stuff that looks like popcorn in it.

Late to this thread, but I love tea! English Breakfast blend, Darjeeling, and Earl Grey are my favorites (with milk and sugar). Got DH addicted to tea as well, but he loves the fancy/expensive ones from Teavana.

@sunny: LOL! Yea, let's not give those boarder patrols any reason to come see us.

@Hope: Yum! Is teavana kinda like davids tea? I've never tried teavana.

@.twist.: David's tea has the genmaicha/ green tea with roasted rice- it's good! The mojito tea I had was a Tetley one!
@Hope: I like Teavana, but our city just got a David's Tea, and I like that better I think.

I love tea! For Christmas, my friend just gave me a delicious loose leaf herbal tea called Blueberry Merlot from Tea Forte. It has rose hips, blueberries, hibiscus and sage -- very calming. I also love Sleepytime Tea at night. On the caffeinated side, I like earl grey or green tea with peach or pomegranate. Now I want tea!

I love Earl Grey with milk and sugar. I enjoy English Breakfast as well.

Herbal teas I like Jasmine, Rose and Hibiscus.
