The tellers at the bank always remember my name, they see me every night. I cannot for the life of me remember theirs, awkward.
Are you good with names?

Noooo. Faces and voices I can remember, names? Nope. I have to grab the phone in the morning at work and I'm not joking when I say I forget people's names in the time it takes me to transfer their call. "Coworker, a lady is on line 1 for you"...when she just told me her name!

I voted always remember, but maybe it would be more like almost always! I had to memorize many names as a teacher.

I have a horrible memory, so I'm bad with meeting new people.

Ha! I loved your 3rd option!! I'm good with faces, but not names!!

Nope, not at all unless it's a name I like. Really it's weird if i have a connection to a name I can easily remember it, otherwise I'll just remember where someone sat and that's it.

I used to be, but I swear my memory is worse since having my son. I blame sleep deprivation for killing brain cells

I've read somewhere that the key to remembering a name is to repeat it as once you say it aloud, it forms a new pathway in your brain that cements the name in your memory better than just hearing it. I employ this technique a lot (without being completely obvious and ridiculous in the way in which I repeat their name) and am then usually very good about remembering names. If I don't repeat the name, it goes in one ear and out the other quicker than you can say 'my name is...'

I'm good with faces and usually ok with children's names, but I often forget their parents' names.

I always remember. I remember where I know them from, too. If I see the grocery cashier at the mall (just an example) I remember who they are. I rarely forget people.

@Ree723: I have done this and it works for me only half the time. An old manager used to say the person's name alot when she first met them. People felt so special plus my manager remembered them.

I'm really good with faces but not names. Like, I can recognize someone I've only met once and haven't seen in a long time. I could tell them exactly where I met them and maybe even what we talked about. But their name - no clue!
@Ree723: I've always heard that but it doesn't ever seem to help me any.

Nope. Terrible! I shake a persons hand, look at them politely but totally miss hearing the name. I start my new job next week and have been introduced to a good number of them already and I don't remember one name.
