I think I've reached the point where I'm completely over TTC. I've been at this for 3 years and I'm just tired of it. I'm tired of thinking about it, talking about it, seeing doctors,getting stuck by needles, etc. No matter the outcome this next cycle will be my last.

@Leialou: *hugs* I haven't had the same experience you have had in terms of intervention but after 2.5 years of this I'm starting to feel the same way.

At cycle 20, we're rounding the corner towards two years. Yep, feeling over it. I think we'll try for this month and maybe two more IUIs with a break in between. Then that's probably it.

@Leialou: I'm sick and tired of hoping, crashing, moping, obsessing, attempting to distract myself, getting up to do it all over again. There is definitely an end in sight! *big hugs*

@Leialou: totally. I'm still going through IVF (not right now, but I will be in June/July) but I'm really just going through the motions at this point. I don't get hopeful or excited anymore, or sad for that matter. I don't think I'm ready to really give up yet, but mentally I feel like I already have. I hope your FET is successful!

Thanks guys. It is so nice to feel like I'm not alone. I definitely still want to have a child, but it isn't important to me to be the one to give birth anymore. I should probably try to be a little positive because I don't need any negativity during the FET cycle.

*HUGS* I completely understand. We will hit the three year mark in August. I haven't been through what you have been through, just the failed IUIs but we are starting IVF this month. I said to my DH last night, that I feel much different starting this than I did with the IUIs (I had hope then). As awful as it sounds, I think I have just lost all hope that anything will work, so I am just going into this without getting my hopes up at all. We'll see how I feel but I don't think I can put myself through more than 2-3 rounds of IVFm (max) if it doesn't work. These years of infertility and failed cycles, and heartbreak take their toll, and I am getting close to done as well.
I really hope this is your cycle! Fingers crossed for you!

I'm so exhausted and keep thinking to myself, "nothing is worth this much physical pain and mental anguish. So beyond ready to throw in the towel and go back on BCP already!!

@Leialou: I absolutely felt that way. I was just so tired of all of all of the ups and downs of it all. I always laughed and told my husband I felt like a fertility treatment drop out. I even told my RE that I didn't have to give birth to be a mom at one of my last appointments. You are not alone!

Yup.
I'm starting our first IUI cycle and I literally have no feelings about it... I'm not upset that it's come to this and I'm not excited or optimistic per se. I just AM?

Hugs! Really hoping this is the cycle for u. Took me over three years to have my kids too, so I know how tiring it is and how hopeless u can feel. Hugs!

@Leialou: *hugs* you are so brave and so strong to have come this far. IF interventions just suck the energy and happiness right out of a person. The ups and downs of hope versus let down are just debilitating. I hope for the best for you this cycle but, I don't blame you one bit for being done. There are other options & you *deserve* to be happy.

Yup, don't blame you. We were completely done after one year. And my husband says all the time that he wishes we could have just known a year ago that it was going to be a struggle for us, and we could have just moved on earlier. It's okay to just be done.

At cycle 21, I just got a new diagnosis so I'm fairly pumped and optimistic... Ask me again when I'm on IUI #6, if I get there.

@Leialou: I am approaching this milestone and six months ago I was over it, we stopped doing any treatments or anything. We are moving forward with an IVF cycle in July/August and I am feeling optimistic right now. Also seeing a therapist has really made a difference for me personally, IF was sucking all of my energy and making me a very unhappy person. Would you be open to seeing someone?

@Leialou: Hugs to you. I have always admired your upbeat attitude but a girl can only put up with so much. After 2 years of infertility, I was so over it. But luckily my third IVF transfer was the charm. I'm so hoping you have good luck on the next one.
I normally don't bring up other options but since you opened the door....Now that I have my son, I know that the love I feel to him is unrelated to our genetic connection or the fact that I gave birth to him. I didn't truly understand how that could be possible until I had him. But I now know that the bond between mother and child goes way beyond biology and that I could love any child who came into my life in a "nontraditional" way. -
@Leialou: Honestly it has been so great for me and if you are open to it maybe give it a try. I am seeing someone who works out of our clinic and she is fantastic. Does your clinic have someone?
