I'm really upset I won't get to watch! It's cloudy here so we will have poor visibility. Our area will be 93% covered.
I wouldn't watch with the kids anyways though since my toddler would in no way keep the glasses on.
I really wanted to drive to MO to watch (5 hours) but I have no PTO left after maternity leave. Bummed!

DH isn't working today so he's keeping DD home for the morning to see it. He made her a pinhole box camera in case she won't wear her solar glasses. It's hazy here right now but it should hopefully burn off before the eclipse.

Nope. I'm at work and they are at daycare, which is keeping them inside until the eclipse has passed.

My boss got us glasses so we will be out in an hour to see it at it's peak here.

DD1 is at school where they will stay inside; DD2 is home with my mom. Both too young to understand.

One of my coworkers found a pair of eclipse glasses on the ground, she called a bunch of us to go check it out. We'll go back out in about 1/2 hour when it reaches totality. Really cool!

I've been talking it up with my 4 year old and we watched some videos about it and she is pretty excited. Made a pinhole projector and it actually works- I can see where it's partially covered. We will peak at 66% coverage in half an hour.

We are in the path of totality for 2024 and I'll probably actually plan ahead and buy glasses!

ETA: the one year old is napping through it! DH is working from home and will go outside to watch with us.

Our LO's school was closed so we could watch ... and we're on parental leave after just having LO2. We watched ... we loved it, and LO was kind of "meh" about it.

I've been watching the NASA livestream all day, and my boss told everyone to go outside when we got close to peak and we passed around a couple pair of glasses.

I just went outside but none of the people at my work had glasses so it was pretty silly. We looked at shadows and that was it. We were nowhere near coverage though (I think 60%).

Daycare explicitly informed all the parents that the kids would be kept indoors during the eclipse times so that nobody would be tempted to look at the sun. That was fine with me!

@catlady: that's what they just said on the news- but said it's worth traveling to a spot in 100%.

Even though we were outside watching it with our pinhole camera, my LO just asked if she missed the solar eclipse. Sigh.

@PinkElephant: DH gave me a welding screen to look through and the clouds cleared enough for me to step outside work and watch. It was neat, but thought it would've gotten darker outside?

We are in an area that had 90% coverage. I'd ordered eclipse glasses a month ago & just yesterday saw the modification to put a paper plate around the glasses for little ones, so I prepped those for LO, but she cared for all of 2 seconds. Lol! It was cool to see, but was just slightly darker & the sun looked like a crescent moon.

DH's family did a big campout in MO where they are from. It turned into a family reunion so we flew in. My 4 yo was into it. She wore her glasses way more than she should have walking around the campsite for hours but also used them for proper viewing. My son, just turned 2, pooped as it first started to get dark (unclear if it was related but after days of constipation I figure the timing has to be somewhat related). He asked me to hold him as it got darker. During the totality he asked me to "turn it back on". Then when he looked at the totality he called it "fireworks". I also thought it would be darker. I asked DD to stay closer to me thinking she wouldn't be able to see me but it never got pitch black. I didn't expect to be into it but it was cool to experience the totality.

I feel so bad for kids who were close to totality who didn't get to experience it! It was a once in a lifetime thing, my family drove a few hours to be inside the line of totality. My 5 year old will remember it, I'm pretty sure.
