I'm in!
Location: Tennessee
EDD: August 10th (really probably more like the 8th, but I preferred to push it back just a hair)
How far along: 3w3d or so
First child? Sort of? No living children, so yes, in that sense. 4th pregnancy
First doctor appointment: Today. I had booked a pre-conception appointment with the midwife, and it turned out to be an early pregnancy one instead! My first ultrasound will be Dec. 17th and I'll have an appointment to hopefully hear the heartbeat in Jan.
Any symptoms so far? Sore boobs, mild cramping (actually that was my biggest tip off, because I haven't had PMS cramps since before my first pregnancy), a little nausea that might be in my head
Who have you told? Just my husband and best friend, and of course the bees! The last few times we told pretty much right away, and DH wants to wait this time just to be different. Maybe change how things go, right?
It's really silly, but we stopped at the grocery store and DH grabbed some scratch offs while we were there to celebrate, and we won $4 and another one. Yay! Seems like an auspicious start to this pregnancy.

@MrsStar: Hey, you're in New Zealand, we might wind up moving there soon! Not likely, but my husband's company is trying to get a project there and he put us down as interested in going. I may have to ask you a bunch of questions if that pans out.

I think my morning sickness/nausea is starting., i gagged on the last bite of my breakfast this morning. I kept a journal during my last pregnancy, but I can't find it, I don't remember if my symptoms started this early last time.

Who have you told? DH. He's in disbelief/ shock, so he's not very vocal on the subject just yet. We're planning on telling our parents, siblings and close friends over Christmas. I can't wait!

I think morning sickness has hit with a vengeance. It's only 7.30am and I've been throwing up since 2am. I'm sure it didn't start until past 6 weeks last time so I was hoping to have a bit more time!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Honeygold89: @BandDmommy: Thank you!
@OhCaptain: @MrsStar: Oh no Last time, I had really bad nausea from weeks 6-10ish, but I only threw up once. I'm kinda scared I won't get so lucky this time. I've literally only thrown up 3 times in the past 10 years, so I have anxiety when I'm nauseous because I hate throwing up.
nectarine / 2994 posts
With LO1 I vomitted all day every day until 17 weeks. All I did during that time was sit in the bathroom by the toilet or sit on the couch waiting with a bucket! Poor LO has seen me throw up today and isn't getting any interesting activities out of me, and plenty of screen time. I think the next few weeks are going to be all about survival! I wouldn't wish this on anyone

@MrsStar: I feel for you!
I only threw up 4-5 times during my first pregnancy, but I was def constantly nauseous.

EDD: totally unsure. Had really weird pp cycles, so I am somewhere in early August I think! I could end up being July? I think I ovulated late, so I'm quite confused right now.
How far along: 4 weeks, I think. Hoping they'll do a dating scan?
First child? 2nd--LO turned 1 in mid Nov
First doctor appointment: will call on Mon, probably. Looking for a new midwife group closer to home.
Any symptoms so far? Nausea, exhaustion, super smelling abilities
Who have you told? DH, our parents, grandmas, and siblings (oh and my nov mamas! @lilteacherbee:)
pomelo / 5607 posts
@MrsStar: Ugh, I'm so sorry! Hope you feel better much sooner this time!
Other than actually vomiting (fingers crossed I don't do that) I feel like I have every pregnancy symptom possible. I can't decide if it's all in my head or not, but it's kind of nice to have that reassurance that I really do feel pregnant.
Does anyone have any thoughts on telling our parents that we're pregnant at Christmas? We thought about doing picture frame ornaments with an ultrasound picture, since we're having one before Christmas. But I'm afraid they'll think it's just a very weird choice of ultrasound pictures of R (we never saw her, so all we have are ultrasound pictures) as a memorial type thing, not an announcement. I don't want to have to explain that and it be weird.
It is nice though, that DH still wants to do something fun. I think it'd be easy, with this being our fourth pregnancy, to just be blase about it and not bother to have fun telling them. But I wouldn't want that, and I'm really glad DH doesn't either.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Torchwood: I'm glad you guys want to do something fun to announce! Could you put your due date or "coming August 2015" or something on the frame to make it more clear?
I really wanted to wait a few more weeks before telling my parents. My mom has a hard time keeping secrets and I'd rather the whole world not know yet. BUT my parents are going out of the country for 2 weeks beginning at the end of July. I feel like I need to tell them soon before they book their flights in case they want to make changes. DH and I are going to their house to help decorate their tree tomorrow and my mom is always all about taking posed pics. I think I'll get her, my dad, and my grandma to stand in front of the tree. I'll say "say cheese" and then "say N's going to be a big brother!" I'll get it on video while DH actually snaps a pic haha.

@lilteacherbee: That sounds like fun! And that's a good idea on the adding something to make it clear. That might work well.
kiwi / 631 posts
@lilteacherbee: That sounds so cute.
I'm planning on telling our families and close friends at Christmas as well. I want to give my parents with a little note in a box that ends with something like you're going to be grandparents in August. I also think I'll get them a frame and maybe some other fun goodies. This will be the first grandchild for my parents, and I want to make it super amazing!
My DH wants to casually bring it up in conversation with his family and his good friends. Like 'works been good, I went to Indiana two weeks ago, and Auggie is pregnant'. But I think I'll make some goodies for them as well.
I'm 13 DPO and except for some small waves of this or that I haven't had too many symptoms yet. I kind of hope I get some more tomorrow. So I could feel a little more pregnant. When has everyone else's symptoms started?
pomelo / 5607 posts
@auggiefrog: Mine started before my bfp! I was certain it would be positive because I felt so pregnant. But with my first two, I never felt anything till after a positive. I would say by 6 weeks you'll likely be feeling *something.* Hopefully not too much nausea!
kiwi / 696 posts
@auggiefrog: with my first I felt them at about 6 weeks, with this one i swear it was the day after my BFP, so 4w3d but I think that's because I'm looking for them!
I'm going to be telling my close friends tonight. We had already planned a girls night/gift exchange. Usually accompanied by copious amounts of wine. They will notice I'm not drinking instantly, and probably guess immediately after that. I'd rather wait until my first ultrasound/hearing the heart beat, but I know I'd want their support if something happens.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@OhCaptain: Hope it goes well!
Does anyone else have an SO with issues spending more to save more? My prenatals are $25-30 a month. But if I buy a 3 month supply they're buy 2 get 1 free, so it's $60 for 3. DH won't go for it. So we're going to continue to pay more for it every month, just because he doesn't want to spend more now. (And no, money isn't tight right now or anything. He's just always like this.)

I'm loving all the cute announcement ideas! I had lo wear a shirt on Thursday that said "Guess whooooo's going to be a big sister" (it had an owl on it) when my mum came over for dinner. My mum thought I had lo wear it as a joke.
My symptoms are super sore boobs, nausea (with some vomiting yesterday) and today I feel like I'm hungover.
