@nicole112: wow, this is so interesting, I'd never heard of this procedure either. Glad you got good results, even if it was a bit awkward.

@sarahnicole218: thanks love! And when I was catching up on this thread, I was so happy to see you and your husband were able to work things out. I hope we both have good luck this first month back to TTC!

@Sprite: Thanks!! It was prob more weird bc I made it weird for myself lol.

Darn facebook. My friend's child turned one. They started trying 6 months before we did. We have nothing to show for it. I am feeling discouraged.

Ok you know it's going to be a long TWW when you're symptom spotting at 2-3dpo. Major pain in my right lower side, really low. It comes and goes every so often today. What is going on in there????

  9. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

@organicmama: Ugh! I did that last cycle starting at 5-6DPO. It makes for a long TWW. Do the best you can to distract yourself.

I have a ton going on including the new job, which is going well. One of my favorite things is that I only work 4 days/week. It should make the weeks short and the weekends long. I am trying not to know what CD it is, and just not worry about it.

For those of you in the TWW, what are you doing to keep busy???

@nicole112: Since school starts on Monday, and it's my first year teaching, I'm SUPER preoccupied with getting ready! I get to meet my kiddos tonight at Meet the Teacher. YAY!!!!! I'm 3-4 dpo today. Probably can't test until next Saturday, aka ETERNITY.

@nicole112: Similar to @organicmama: I focus on school work when school is in session (I'm a student though, not a teacher).

A couple cycles ago I focused on tracking what I eat through MFP so that if I wasn't KU, at least I could be healthier! I should focus on that again...

I'm trying really hard to "let go" this cycle and not be as obsessive about peeing on things (especially since DH commented that my new hobby seems to be peeing on things. oy). I'm pretty impressed I've made it to CD9 and haven't pulled out the OPKs yet (I usually O on day 16 so I'm not sure why I've started using them so early in past months...except for habit and the impulse to control ALL the things)

    I could just about cry.

I've been really struggling with my faith since the MC (well, let's be honest, the struggle started when my dad passed away and I started having anxiety attacks whenever I was in church).

My parish is rather conservative, and I can't help but feel judged when I go there. I'm married and have been for two + years, yet I have no kids. I feel like people assume we're not open to having kids.

DH isn't especially religious. He goes to Mass with me at Christmas and he agreed to get married in the Church because those things mean a lot to me. But I don't push him to go weekly, but then I also tend to not go often because of my crisis of faith.

DH texted to ask if I wanted to plan on going to church this Sunday. Just because.

I've been wanting to go back, in my heart...part of that "let go" thing I posted about previously. But then Sunday rolls around and I get anxious and just don't go.

Sometimes (like last week when I exploded), I feel like DH has no idea what goes on in my heart and head.

Well, he's proving me wrong now.

@marym: Aww, that was awesome of your hubby. They sometimes know us better than we think Have you tried talking to God about your feelings? Telling Him you're angry and confused? He can handle those feelings pretty well, being the God of the universe and all I have a feeling that by praying and talking to Him openly and honestly, you may get some peace. I will certainly be praying for you, Friend.

@MaryM: I can relate to this feeling...I'm finally more active in my church again after a several year hiatus from my faith. After losing a close friend several years ago, I really struggled with my anger towards God and not going to Church became easier than trying to resolve my issues with my faith and with God. It took a lot, a couple of signs, and a couple of boosts from friends before I went back to Church. My DH does not attend with me, but I have found that getting more involved has been very rewarding for me, and keeps me going. I am now on the Parish Council, I sing in the choir, and I help on retreats. A complete 360 from where I was two years ago. I will pray for you in hopes that you will find healing and experience God's grace.

@nicole112: I'm 8DPO right now...BORING! I try so hard not to symptom spot, but it's totally not working. But I have a lot of plans this weekend to hopefully distract me until I cave and test on Monday.

@AmeliaBedilia: Facebook can sometimes be the worst for reminding you how long you've been trying and how quickly it has happened for others. Big hugs!

@nicole112: I'm not in the TWW yet, but to keep busy I obsessively look at my chart multiple times a day, ha!

@MaryM: I'm sorry you've been struggling. Your hubby really sounds like he's trying to help you feel better. I hope you find a way to overcome your anxiety soon!

@sarahnicole218: you have so much patience! I usually can't resist starting testing by 8DPO, and don't think I've ever held out longer than 10DPO. I know a lot of people can't stand to see negatives, but for me the not knowing is always so much worse!

  18. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@organicmama: @sarahnicole218: Thank you both for your prayers.

I've been making baby steps. I did go to the basilica last week with my mom, and I'm wondering if that's why DH is suggesting going to mass? Maybe he noticed I seemed a little better after that? I don't know. I sort of wonder if he talked to my mom and she suggested it. (Not in a weird way...but DH is an incredibly sweet person who LOVES calling people and catching up with them so he calls my mom regularly too)

Anyway, today he texted to ask if I want to get dressed up and go out to dinner tomorrow. Maybe I should have emotional meltdowns more often if this is the result! (kidding of course!)

@organicmama: That's great! Good luck with school!! What grade are you teaching? Sorry if you mentioned it already and I missed it! Well you are quite distracted! That's good!!

@MaryM: That's good! What are you going to school for? That's so sweet that DH calls your mom regularly! And I love getting dressed up to go out to dinner!! Enjoy!!

@sarahnicole218: Ugh…8 DPO…totally boring! lol Have fun this weekend!! Stay busy! And GL if you POAS on Monday!

@Sprite: I do the same thing! I try not to obsess but it's so hard not to!!

I'm definitely in the TWW. Today is 3 DPO. I'm trying to stay distracted. I am actually trying to keep my body calm and relaxed. I don't want any added stress and I don't want to risk anything. Work has been crazy busy and I just tell myself that I can only do what I can and that's it. And luckily today I had a much lighter day at work and was able to be calm and have an easier day. I am taking a day trip with DH to Connecticut tmw and Sunday I want to work on my house. Next week is sister's bday and work and whatever else I can do to keep busy! So it kind of stinks because this month I ovulated so late (CD 20) and it's usually between CD 16-18 now I feel like if AF does come (not planning on it though lol) now all my apps on my phone are estimating AF is supposed to come on CD 34 and I've never been that late. So that kind of stinks because that gives me false hope with AF being "later" than norm. So that's kind of annoying. I also work in a school two days/week and that starts just after labor day so that will keep me busy I guess!!

@nicole112: I've been trying to tell myself at work that I can only do my job. My work depends on a lot of other people, and I need to stop worrying about what they do

I'm getting a masters in management. Thankfully I'll be done in spring

@MaryM: It's so true. There's only so much worrying you can let yourself do otherwise I feel that it adds more stress to my life that I don't want! And what a big accomplishment! Congrats!!

Home from vacation in NZ (which was fabulous!), but unfortunately got AF while we were gone, so won't even need to test this month. Hoping to get some answers from our wtf appt later this coming week after all of our initial testing. Expecting we'll need to step things up with at least moderate interventions, which I'm really not looking forward to & yet will jump into with both feet. Will catch up on all the happening I missed while gone, but wishing you all

@GoGoSnoGirl: Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great trip! Sorry to hear about the evil witch! I'm in the same boat with depending on how this cycle goes..intervention is the next step. Not particularly happy but I'll go with it!

Well, no AF yet, but as with every cycle the spotting has started...so she's likely to show up in a couple of days. So I'm going to save my tests for next month. It will be our third time using Clomid but first time doing the IUI. I'm anxious, but excited about not having to feel the pressure for timing everything perfectly ourselves.

@gogosnogirl: sorry to hear about AF not a pleasant thing to experience on vacation! (Or ever) Hope you get some answers at your appt.

@sarahnicole218: so you're still spotting before AF while on clomid? I though clomid should help bump up your progesterone and thus prevent spotting? How frustrating But exciting things on the horizon at least...

@nicole112: I'm teaching 4th grade. First time ever teaching (unless you count 1 1/2 hours of Sunday school?) I'M SO NERVOUS!!

@organicmama: I'm not on Clomid this month, the last time I took it was March. We took a few months off to strengthen our marriage, but now we're ready for a family. Outside of our little break, we've been trying for a year and a half, so we're ready for the necessary interventions. We tried these past two cycles naturally, but no luck. Hoping next cycle is the one for us!

@organicmama: Ah! You'll do great!! GL!!

Today is 5 DPO. Blah blah blah. Trying to stay distracted. Tuesday (7 DPO) I go for blood work to make sure I ovulated. And I'm going to try not POAS until either I can't stand it anymore and feel like I have to POAS or if AF comes. But I don't plan on her coming this month! I must say, this is the most positive I've felt about a ttc cycle yet! Our timing was amazing...better than ever I think! How is everyone else doing? We have a few POAS'ers in the next few days! I'm looking forward to some bfp's!!!

@GoGoSnoGirl: Welcome home! YAY for a great trip!!

It seems like a lot of us might have WTF appointments coming up? I called Friday to try to make mine but got the voicemail. Boo!

    @organicmama: Good luck with school!

DH's surprise date night was really fun. We went out for a cocktail and one of his friends met us with a camera and we took engagement-style photos all over this really cute little town near us. It was really fun (though I'm wishing I knew ahead of time so I didn't wear an empire waist dress. Half of them look like pregnancy announcements I swear!)

Then we went to dinner at a 4 star restaurant that conveniently was celebrating restaurant week. And this morning he went to Mass with me. It was a really nice weekend overall.

It looks like I'll be Oing mid-week again (which I hate) but DH has two weekdays off this week so hopefully O will hold off til Thursday and that will help.

@GoGoSnoGirl: Sorry to hear AF arrived. NZ sounds like such a fabulous vacation spot though, hope you had a ton of fun!

@sarahnicole218: Boo to the spotting! I forget, have you done progesterone supplementing yet?

@nicole112: sending you strength and patience during your TWW!

@MaryM: Your date night sounds like a blast! What a sweet surprise! Sorry to hear you have to wait so long for your appointment. Hopefully a busy doctor means they're very successful though!

@Keppa: I'm sorry to hear that your timing wasn't great. Sending positives thoughts that the rest of this cycle passes quickly for you!

@busylizzy111: What DPO are you and when do you plan on testing? The POAS urge is always tough!

  34. Sprite

After a side effect-filled miserable week last week, I triggered last night. IUI scheduled for tomorrow morning! So that puts my POAS date officially Sept 8th, but I'll more likely start at like 10DPO on the 5th.

I'm feeling pretty hopeful for this cycle....or at least trying to convince myself I am. When we're spending this much trying to get a BFP, I have to be hopeful otherwise I just want to cry.

I am around 8 dpo... AF is due in a week. I have a heavy feeling in my uterus but I try not to get crazy with symptom spotting...

  37. lazypanda

@Sprite: FX that this IUI works for you! Will you test out your trigger?

@busylizzy111: I was going to test on Wednesday but I had a weird dream over the weekend that prompted me to test on Saturday. I dreamt I was having twins & even had called out their names! The last time I had a dream of giving birth was in May when I had a chemical pregnancy. So, I got a BFP surprisingly at what may have been 9DPO. I'll be going in for my betas today & my RE has already prescribed me to take progesterone suppositories for the next 12 weeks as a precaution. Good luck to you in waiting it out!

@MaryM: yay for having your wtf appt scheduled! And boo for it taking so long. The good thing is that once you're in with an RE, they accommodate your cycle schedule. CD13 on Saturday or Sunday, no problem. My first WTF/RE consult was a month after I got referred because the infertility clinic had a lot of patients.

good luck to everyone still in the TWW!

  38. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@lazypanda: The WTF will be with my OBGYN, not an RE. But it's a NaPro practice so I'm hoping they'll move toward testing at that point. She offered to see me last year if I wasn't KU within 6 months of my annual (which I was, just didn't stick!).

Conveniently, the appointment I got (which was the first one they offered) will be on CD21. So I'm hoping she might just start with a blood draw that day to check my progesterone (which I suspect is probably low)

  39. Miss Sarah

@Sprite: GOOD LUCK!!! I hope you'll share more details about your IUI experience...I'll be heading for the same procedure in 2-3 weeks! It'll be our first one and I haven't really gotten too many details from my doc about it yet.

@MaryM: @lazypanda: @busylizzy111: @sarahnicole218: Thanks for the well wishes for our IUI!

@lazypanda: Congrats again!! And yep, I will definitely be testing out the trigger. Last time around it was gone by about day 7. I've got most of a 50 pack of wondfos waiting for just that reason!

@sarahnicole218: Happy to share! What would you like to know?
