My 12 week old exclusively BF baby has acne all over her chin! Does this have something to do with BFing? Is there something I can use to treat, or should I just leave it alone?

My LO had it all over her body too for several months. She is EBF too, so I asked the DR and he advised to just leave it alone. Sure enough it is slowly going away. I just make sure to keep her clean and well moisturized. It should go away soon, so I wouldn't worry too much.

it'll go away on its own and you don't have to do anything about it. charlie had it pretty bad and then it went away. olive has some spots of it here and there. i think it's caused by the elevated hormone levels in their bodies after birth.

My baby girl had it for a lil while when she was first born. I addressed it with her pediatrician who said to just leave it alone. It will pass. But, my husband could not just let it be and he bought an all natural cream called "california baby". It's also meant for extremely dry skin. It works really well for both uses (acne and dry skin). Give it a try if it's really bothering you.

Leave it alone. We also try to make sure to wash her boppy cover and crib sheets frequently to help keep dirt off her skin.

Someone on another board I'm on said to use tea tree oil, that it helps, but I've found waiting it out works well too

We put hydrocortisone cream on our 2 (or was it 3) month old. There are some posts out there against it so buyer beware but our doctor's office (Kaiser) recommended it. We only put it on a few times, a few spots (as little as possible) and it disappeared in days. I'm so glad b/c I think 3 months old is like the golden age for photographing your baby...so chubby and smily with no teeth. There were no long term pigmentation effects as described on some blogs, and our daughter has slightly tan skin and she is now 10 months.
