With a new baby coming in Zjune, I was thinking of buying a doll for DS. He is 2.5. Any favorites?

we got this one for charlie before olive was born and he really, really loved it. then we had to get a second one for olive because she loved charlie's so much!

We have the same one that Bee posted. The Corelle Calin doll. My two year old loves it.

Corolle dolls are the loveliest, sweetest smelling baby dolls.

Also the Corolle calin doll. They must be baby crack or something. I didn't think I'd go for a baby doll at that price but I'd never seen lo react to any stuffed animal or doll and when she saw one out in the store just was immediately obsessed.

Not to hijack the thread, but I like @Alba4: am due in June, and thought about getting my son a doll, but when I show them to him in the store, he isn't very interested! Did your boys show any interest before you bought their dolls? Hate to waste $$ if he is going to ignore

@runnerd: My son didn't really have a specific interest. But a friend got him a personalized baby stroller (a toy one) for his birthday and he was pushing around animals. So I decided to get him a couple baby dolls and now he loves them. I then got him little toy bottle and sippy cup and he "feeds" them. So cute!
And it definitely made him more aware of real life babies around us. -
@runnerd: charlie didn't show much interest at the time (he was 12 months old). but he did just a little while later and we still have it today in the Philippines!

@runnerd: DS asked for a baby doll just around 2, he's 3 now. I got him a $5 one from Walmart. He loves her. He goes through phases of playing with her and taking care of her, then he won't for a while.
I'd say if your unsure, get an inexpensive one.

We also have the Corelle doll and stroller. I got it for my son partly because we had a baby on the way and partly out of spite (story below) and he goes through phases with it. Right now he's a huge fan and wants to take baby and stroller everywhere - the baby comes to the park with us every day.
Spite story: when my in-laws were here they wanted to buy my son a toy at the aquarium. He picked up a pink seahorse and my FIL took it out of his hands, replaced it with a blue one, and then said "is that the one you want?" I was furious. So when they asked us to buy his Christmas present from them, I got the girliest thing I could think of that I thought he'd enjoy.
