I have tried a sling and a back pack. I liked them when my children were lighter. I really want to get a wrap and try that. Idk if I should take that leap.

I love soft structured carriers (ergo, tula). I bought a wrap before my son was born since I loved the idea of wrapping, but there was just way too much fabric for me and I never got the hang of it.
I bought a ring sling for my new babe due in a couple days. I haven't tried it but I'm thinking it will be cooler for the summer months (and easy to keep in my diaper bag).

The Moby wrap was great until baby turned about 3 months old. Then it wasn't enough support and hurt our backs. We used the Ergo exclusively until DD was about 2 years old.

We like the Ergo 360 because it's so easy. We have a boba wrap, but it's so much fabric and it gets super hot.

I liked my sling until E was a little over 2. Then pregnancy made my hips and black too loose to carry comfortably. I use a woven wrap, a linen sling, and a woven sling with my 2 month old

I love my wraps but I think if you're only going to have one carrier, an ergo is great. DH takes DD with it and they both have a blast. It doesn't have the learning curve of slings and wraps.

I love my wrap but I agree with the sentiment that if you're just going with one that a soft structured carrier might be best. It's typically the fastest option and it gives you back, front and sometimes hip carry options. But! Try them on first, both on your front and back. I loved my ergo until I tried it on my back so now I have a second one...
Also, many baby wearing groups have lending libraries and I frequently borrow a woven wrap, despite having one I love!

I love my sling and my Tula. They both serve completely different purposes.

I have a ring sling, ssc (tula) and a wrap. I like them all for different things. The ring sling is good for quick in and out, like running errands. The tula is good for longer trips like the mall or amusement park. And my wrap I love for around the house and eventually I think it will be nice for longer outings when I can do different back carries. I love the flexibility of my wrap, as I can do a hip carry, front carry or back carry with just one carrier.

I have a Beco Soleil, a ring sling and a stretchy wrap. The stretchy wrap was never a good fit for us (I am really hopeless at wrapping). I love the Soleil so much, but it's a bit hot now with the infant insert in summer (only a few lbs until she can go without!), so the linen ring sling is really coming in handy. Also, now that she's older she likes to look around and see more, so she enjoys being up in the sling. When it's sleep time, I'm able to put the tail over her head and she'll drift off to sleep. It's a great alternative, but not as good for long hauls.

We have a Boba wrap and also a Boba 3G. We loved the wrap for when she was small and for wearing her around the house. As she got bigger, the Boba 3G was perfect!

I can't decide since the SSC and the wrap serve different purposes in our house.

I was too late in the game for it, but in hindsight a K'tan would have been great for those newborn days (a friend lent me one but it was too late). Then starting from about 4 mo she was great in the Ergo!
