DD is now 2 so we do not have much use of her skip hop diaper bag anymore. I usually use a trader joe tote for her. I was thinking it would be easier to have a backpack instead of a tote so I can maneuver around the subways with her and not worrying about the tote sliding off my shoulders.
Any one have recommendations for a backpack?

I have a Ju-Ju-Be BFF diaper bag, and it's a convertible diaper bag and messenger bag, but I always use the backpack function. I'm kind of obsessed with it!

I have an eddie bauer hiking daypack that i have repurposed for that exact same reason. it is a little big but has spots for water bottles, which is great for me, and lots of little organizing pockets.

Looking at the Boken as well as Juju be right backpack. The Boken is half the price so I'm leaning towards that one.

Also have a JuJuBe BFF and it's amazing! Love love love it! Perfect size. Not too big and not too small. Very well thought out bag.

We have an REI daypack. It's worked great for us! I do think that outside bottle pocket things are clutch.

@MamaCate: thanks for sharing that link. I've been looking for a backpack that isn't sold as a diaper bag, and that looks like it fits the bill! Is it heavy though? That's one issue I've had with backpacks over the years.

I just have a High Sierra backpack from college that I reused as a diaper bag.

@Happygal: I don't think it is heavy. It is a little bigger than you need for just quick errands around town, but when we went it a big outdoor museum, it was perfect to hold water for me and LO, a change of clothes for her in case of potty accidents, snacks, sunscreen, hats and my wallet, phone and stuff. We do use it as our pack for short day hikes too, and got it on sale. Let me know if you have more questions!
