I get to be the godmother for my cousin's baby boy! The baptism is next weekend, so I'm looking for a gift that I can get pretty quickly. A cross necklace for a girl would be sooo easy, but I'm stumped for a boy.
Ideas?

A bible (a children's bible or a nice one to hang onto for when he's older), a prayer book (they make children's prayer books), a stuffed lamb, a rosary, a saint medal for the namesake of the parish or any other saint that could be special to them, a stuffed lamb, a crucifix (unless the other godparent is buying that).
Our son's godparents bought him cross/crucifix necklaces, and nice crucifixes for his wall.
Nix the rosary and saint medals from the list if it's not a Catholic baptism.

Yeah, I was going to say the same - my LO got some beautifully illustrated prayer books, a Jellycat lamb, a personalized silver cup, and money. I can't remember the titles of the prayer books, but I know I've posted it here before, so maybe it will come up if you search.

Jewelry is a common gift for boys and girls in our circle, so I would go that route.

DH got his god son a cross on a pin so he could wear during baptism. When he is older DH will get him a chain to put the cross on. Something like this -

@LittleFox: It's a Presbyterian baptism, so saints and crucifixes aren't an option. I do like the idea of a simple cross for the wall, though!
