My parents used to ring a bell whenever it was time to eat. 
Omg that bell was so annoying--especially in the morning.
DH needed a bell for work so we ordered 2. One for him and one for home. HAHA. It'll be a nice way for us to get the kids downstairs or to the kitchen without having to yell or text.
Did your parents use bells or etc. at home when you were younger? Will you?

Haha, no they didn't, mom used her big voice. 
All though, since I was a big reader, I always wished we lived on a farm and Mom would ring the huge dinner bell to call us all in.
I'm intrigued: why does your husband need a bell for work?

my mom would put a bell by my bed when I was home sick so I could ring it if I needed anything. I almost totally forgot about that til you posted this! I love Hellobee!

yup, my parents rang a bell when they wanted me to come eat dinner. made me feel like livestock so i will not be doing that to my LO. i can probably just text her. LOL.

@mediagirl: He probably won't use it much, but he teaches certification courses every once in a while and wants to use it to get everyone's attention (when they get too loud).

We had a pretty small house growing up, so we didn't even have to scream to be heard across the house. We're in a tiny house now too, so no need for a bell.

We didnt have one growing up. But DH and I talked about having something for future LO's. Living in the country and on a little bit of land we talked about getting a triangle bell or outdoor bell to "bring em on back in" LOL
