Where do you buy fresh berries in the off season? We paid $3.99 for 6oz of fresh blueberries from our grocery store last week! And that's on sale.
LO loves to snack on frozen berries so I freeze fresh ones because it's cleaner. If I let her snack on frozen berries from the freezer section they stain and make a mess.

We have fresh cranberries in stores all winter, because they keep so well. They might not be the best snack food - they're pretty sour, but you can try sprinkling them with sugar.

DD loves frozen blueberries. I still buy strawberries in the winter - i find the organic ones (driscoll's) taste the best.

@lavender: do you remember how much the big carton is? I remember balking at the price. But now compared to 6oz for 3.99 it doesn't sound so bad!

I pick about 20 lbs of blueberries in the summer and freeze them. When I run out, I buy frozen. No more fresh berries until strawberries are back in season.

@regberadaisy: I just bought blueberries at Costco for maybe $6 for a big container? We also mash thawed frozen berries and mix with yogurt because they are way to messy to eat by hand.

I only do frozen in the winter. Fresh ones are imported from so far away, are super expensive and not good.

@regberadaisy: bummer! Ours was about 5 weeks last year and I missed picking but this year we were picking till almost August!
