Somewhere warm and tropical? Looking for suggestions on places that are family friendly...

We went to Cancun when DD was almost 1.5 and had a great time!

Our first family vacation was to a beach in Mexico that is driving distance, and we stayed in a condo. Things that I thought made the trip work well were:
-full kitchen in our room so we could control our food and LOs food
-beach and pool (including kiddie pool) so we had the option of both
-condo was beach front so it was not a big deal to walk back up to the room for nap or if we forgot something
-because we drove it was easy to bring the pack n play, high chair, etc which made it easier for usI don't know where you are but those might be some things to consider. I know a lot depends on geography.

We went to myrtle beach in August when ds was 8 months and to Hilton head island when ds was 21 months. Both were great trips and only two hour flights for us, which was key for us!

Disney Aulani in Hawaii, not so budget friendly though

Following. We did a cruise when LO was 8 months and it was great, but I think this time I'd want to do something on solid ground but am stumped about what might be good.

We did cancun last summer and it was a nice trip! We're doing Florida this year for something closer. I'm really starting to like the rented condo situation more than the hotels

We went to Cancun with our 9 month old and stayed at NYX hotel. It was perfect because they have reasonably priced suites, so we had a separate bedroom from LO, and a small kitchen to store food/milk for him. It had a baby pool, a beautiful beach and really good food.
It is also walking distance to a huge outdoor mall if you need to get out and go someplace different, and they had a small convenience store on site if you needed something extra (like more bottled water in our case).
