Hellobee Boards

Our dog is 7 and still has the energy of a puppy. We board her when we go out of town. I just don't trust having her home alone all day with someone coming to check on her once a day.

We board her at a veterinary kennel so there's a vet on staff. They have a big area to run around in multiple times a day. They do her nails and bathe her before we pick her up! She loves it there. Despite only being boarded 2-3x a year she doesn't even glance back at us when we drop her off. It's only when we pick up that she's pissed at us.

It's like $40/day and they provide the food. They like to feed a sensitive stomach formula due to the adjustment.

We just left our three dogs for two weeks, and we had a dog sitter come over to watch them. Initially I asked her to come at least 4 times a day for 1-2 hours each time, but she ended up spending the night a lot and spending more time with them. I think it was a good option, although I found out that she wasn't watching the dogs all the time, and our new puppy had a bunch of accidents and ruined some of our carpet that we will need to replace.
I paid her $50/day, which is WAY cheaper than it would have been for me to keep them all at a boarder.

I found a really awesome place that only has 10 runs, is owned by a vet, has several yards for dogs to play in, honors my request for my dogs to just be with each other not other dogs. We travel quite a bit and they are there up to a month combined over a year. We know they are safe, happy and well cared for. They charge $60 a night. It's expensive but for us it works. I feel that they are my responsibility, not my family and friends- occasionally if we will be gone for 8+ hours my mom or MIL will come let them out.

Personally I would never leave my dogs alone overnight, even if they are only inside for 8ish hours with a dog walker letting them out (what if they forgot or got in a car accident). I would be too worried about them, or that something could go wrong, but I work from home so they are rarely home alone unless we are out to dinner/running errands together.

I would check out several kennels until you find one that is a good fit. You could also look into a house sitter.
