So I am most likey going on bed rest today - no fun! I read some advice to have some parenting books on had to read. I think someone also recently said they wish they had prepared for breastfeeding earlier. It looks like I am going to have plenty of time for both! Has anyone read something good lately?
The expectation is that my twins will be coming very early (around 28 weeks) so if you have any books that helped you prepare for NICU stays I would love to know those as well.

This one is the best. But do me a favor and DO NOT read beyond what you are actually experiencing. The book can be terrifying, but chances are the majority of issues will not apply to you, so don't read about them. But do pull it out when you need the information.

I'm happy to help with any NICU questions, as we spent 101 and 151 days there and experienced probably everything in that book.

@sandsandmore: Thanks for this suggestion! I'm 33.5 wks and have been on bedrest for 3 wks for pre-term labor...hoping to make it to term, but trying to prepare for premature birth, too.

@winniebee trying to hang in. Made a pit stop at l&d for 1 night but ok now back at home. Hope u are doing well. You'll get to term (or close I am sure). Everyone keeps pushing this websit sidelines have u heard of it?

@Ms.SK: I haven't heard of it, but will check it out! When I was having a bad day last week, I found a website keepemcookin but not that impressed. How far along are you now? I'm happy that I've made it this far and really hope I can make it another 2.5 weeks to 36 weeks....

I referred to The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding a lot. I never read it cover to cover but instead looked things up as I went along, I also referenced The Breastfeeding Book by Dr. Sears.
Right now I'm reading the No Cry Sleep Solution. I'm glad I found it while he's still young - would be a good read before you have your LO so that you know what you want to practice.
I also read The Baby Book by Dr. Sears as an all-around reference to all-things baby

@winniebee I am 25 weeks with the twins. We are all hoping I get to 32 weeks at a minimum. I hope I can do it. I'm sorry you had a rough day- trust me after this week mine hasnt seen so good. I'm sure it will get better now. If u have a bad day please pm me when u are up to it I'll try to send you something to keep your mind off of the bad day. We can do this! I say when u are up to it because when I am in the thick of a problem all I want is to get to the other side of the issue.

@Ms.SK: Wow, twins, that's amazing! Do you mind me asking what your issue is? Luckily, for me, for every bad day, there's 3 good ones. My cervix is shortened which is common with twins. Plus I am only 4'9 not a lot of room for them. I am also having sciatic pain and can't stand up straight or walk easily (one reason for the hospital visit). My email is my name so I'll sed it to you separately. I'm happy u have some good days mixed in. I'm having a boy& a girl. Do u know yet?
