Hi Boston area Bees! 
My family is relocating to the Boston area for my job. We're really excited, but don't know anyone in the area and haven't spent much time on the East Coast at all! I would love to hear about fun things to do, local parenting groups, and any advice on finding daycare/preschool for an almost 2 year old. I really appreciate any ideas and insights you are willing to share! Thank you!!!

The Boston area is pretty big - will you be working downtown or in an area adjacent to the city? I work about 30 minutes NW of Boston and live about 20 minutes further out than that.

I live right on the edge of town in Wtrtwn. Boston is made up of so many neighborhoods, do you know which area you'll be in?
I've spent the past almost 20 years on the Brighton/Cambridge side of Boston. I'm walking distance to Harvard Square and the Red Line (MBTA). Two doors down from Target and Starbucks (you know, the essentials).

Join gardenmoms, great online resource for daycare, babysitters etc. do you know where you are going to live? I live just outside the city, on the greenline. Very family friendly and always lots of fun and free activities. Feel free to message me with specific questions

Thank you for your replies! I will be working in Lexington, living in Woburn for the first year. We will be renting an apartment at first, but hoping to buy a house after a year or two. My husband is still interviewing for jobs, so I'm not sure where he will be working yet.
