Hi everyone, I'm also in the Boston area but can't make your meetup. Just wanted to chime in that there is Beantown playspace in the Natick mall. I think it's free? I haven't been but I noticed it last time I was at the mall.

    @skipra: Thanks for chiming in!

Both the Natick Mall and South Shore are the same distance for me, so it doesn't matter which one (of those two) we go to. Whichever has decent parking and easier to get to by car would be my vote!

@Adira: There's a food court play area in the Burlington mall.

Would it be crazy to bring a week old to this? lol. I'm being induced on the 17th and I'm sad to miss it!

@Adira: I'm a former Boston bee living in Maine now, but will be in the area for Thanksgiving! I'm so psyched that I'll be able to join you all! Natick would be easiest for me, but Burlington is great too...

@ShootingStar: I want to tell you to bring your baby because YAY! Babies!!! But I'd probably advise you to skip it! Xander's in daycare and has a million germs (and I'm sure there will be a ton of germs from other kids and mall-goers in general) and I'd hate for your baby to get sick! Plus I'm betting you won't feel up for it anyway!!

@knittylady: Oh good! Thanks for the info!! I've been to the Burlington Mall before (Cheesecake Factory, YUM), but wasn't sure if there was a play area!

So I feel like we've gotten 2 votes for Burlington, 2 votes for South Shore, and 1 for Natick...?

  7. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@Adira: I know, it would be completely crazy. I just wish I could meet everyone!

Natick would be easier for us.

  9. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ShootingStar: I've had to miss three of these, so don't worry! There will be other opportunities!!! You and your LO will have to come to the next one!

My vote is for Natick...we are coming from CT so it's closer for us!

I think Burlington or south shore are easiest for me, but I can do natick. I'm in South Boston so none are too far.

ETA: Actually they are practically equally easy, so I'm happy with all three and leave the voting to people where it makes a bigger difference.

if i go, natick would be much easier for me than burlington.

@ShootingStar: i will happily hide D while you mingle! i'll beat germy people away with a stick.... not that i'm encouraging you or anything

2 votes for Burlington, 2 votes for South Shore, and 4 for Natick!

I prefer Natick but will meet up anywhere

South shore is easier for me so that's my vote!

  16. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

2 votes for Burlington, 3 votes for South Shore, and 5 for Natick!

Where are my votes for Burlington?? But it's sounding like Natick is going to be the winner unless we get more votes for other places!

  17. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

I can do Natick too! a little farther, but not as far as Burlington (that's far for us and we probably wouldn't be able to make it!)

  18. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@Adira: I'd vote for Burlington if I was sure I could come. A 15 minute ride would go over a lot better than 40+. But I don't want to weigh and and not be able to make it.

  19. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

OH man! I was hoping we'd stick to Watertown Buttt I can do Natick.

@ShootingStar: COME!!! None of us will come near your LO, I promise - especially if you have him/her? in a wrap or something! I started going to my new mom's group when LO was 4 weeks. See how you feel

  20. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ShootingStar: No, you're NOT coming, haha. Though maybe next time when you CAN come, we'll meet at Burlington!

  21. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

    @Adira: Shush, she's coming!

  22. bpcmarj

    pomegranate / 3729 posts

@Adira: Burlington for sure has one and a few HB friends and I met there once and it went well.

But, I would say South Shore for selfish reasons (since I am driving from the Cape, and then picking up my sister at the airport). But, could likely make the other options work! I do like that they are free now and if DH comes I can send him to Best Buy and he will be happy! lol

  23. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@JoJoGirl: haha, don't make promises you can't keep! If she brings a 1 week old to the meetup, I won't be able to stay away!!

  24. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@JoJoGirl: Haha I'm not worried about you guys. But he's probably only going to be 6 days old (induction on Sunday). I was thinking if it was Burlington I could maybe manage a couple hours out with him - I'm also really not the type to stay in all the time and after 2 weeks of bed rest before he's here, I may be a little antsy for an outing. But Natick will add a bunch if time to the trip so I'd have to be feeling REALLY awesome.

    Hi everyone!

So I am going to have to vote against natick because the bean town play space is not in the food court.. It's tucked away in a store space way across the mall. And it's pretty small without a real place for adults to sit or congregate. So my vote would be south shore! But I can do any of the three really... South shore is closest for us but we're pretty centrally located.

  26. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@bpcmarj: I'm 40m from south shore, so we could always try a play date there at some point too even anywhere in that area!

  27. bpcmarj

    pomegranate / 3729 posts

@sorrycharlie: We are crazy for not getting together sooner...because I am pretty sure we are only like 40 minutes from each other...so meeting in the middle would be so easy. We need to work on that

  28. mrs. wagon

    blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts

Just checked and the Burlington mall has their play space in the food court too!

I'm not going to be in around for the meetup but I go to the playground in the South Shore Plaza all the time, great enclosed area that is adjacent to the food court.

  30. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@JoJoGirl: @rachiecakes: @mrs. bird: @petunia354: @knittylady: Considering the location of the play place in the Natick Mall, would you ladies be willing/able to do South Shore instead (or Burlington, but I think more Bees have voted for South Shore)?

  31. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Adira: South shore is my last choice... I think for me preference is:
    1) Watertown (hey, a girl can hope)
    2) Natick
    3) Burlington
    4) South shore

  32. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

My order of preference....considering mrs.wagons expert mall testimony.
    1. South shore
    2. Natick
    3. Burlington

And I'd still be down for Watertown.
I want to limit our distance from grandma and grandpa whom are complaining that I'm taking some of their sacred grandbaby visiting hours away.

  33. mrs. wagon

    blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts

@Adira: I hope you get this reply notification (I haven't been getting them, boo!) do you want to start a new thread with a poll for location and time?? I am totally down for just going with whatever is most popular!

  34. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

so just to clarify because i'm getting lost, lol:

    it was:
    2 votes for Burlington
    3 votes for South Shore
    5 for Natick

then Mrs. Wagon, bcpmarj voted South Shore (primarily anyway), so that makes

    2 Burlington
    5 South Shore
    5 Natick

then taking into consideration @oliviaoblivia: 's recent post, it would make

    2 Burlington
    6 South Shore
    4 Natick

    correct math? lol

  35. petunia354

    pomegranate / 3863 posts

I could do Watertown (don't mind paying) or South Shore.

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @mrs. wagon: Sure - I'll do a poll!

  37. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@Adira: In case anyone misses the new thread, maybe link it in here? so we can make sure the bees that already voted are counted as well.
