LO2 is due in November, and I'm thinking about sleeping arrangements. LO1 just turned 2, they will be 28 months apart. LO1 is still in his crib, and there is still one lower setting we could put the mattress on. He has never attempted to climb out. It also has a toddler rail we can replace on of the sides with when we are ready to move to a toddler bed.

I was originally thinking we would keep him in the crib as long as possible and then transition it to a toddler bed for him, and get a new crib for baby 2. But now I'm wondering if it would make more sense to reuse the crib and get a new bed for LO1.

Things to consider: we are about to move to a new house where the kids rooms will be upstairs and ours will be down. For that reason I'd like LO1 to stay in the crib as long as possible, but I realize that he will be out before too long either way.

We will definitely use the crib for LO2, so it won't be just a thing for looks that never gets baby time.

Any insight as far as crib to toddler bed transition etc?
