Has anyone ever bought a rug, like an 8 X 10 size, online? If yes, was it a good experience and did the rug end up being what you expected? Any recommendations for good rug websites?

We bought our dinning room rug at RUGSUSA. Great experience! Free shipping and they always have huge sales. Just make sure you make the tape measure your best friend before you buy so you know you're getting the size you really want/need for the room.

I bought our rug off of http://esalerugs.com. They have good sales (I only look at the sale stuff so I don't get swayed) and I was able to get a rug shipped from the East coast all the way up here for free...AND returned the rugs I didn't like for free. Their customer service was immediate and not pushy. Nice experience, I thought.

We bought one for our daughter's room from Wayfair. The price was quite good, the rug arrived promptly, and we have been very happy with the purchase.

I did twice. Once was a pretty bad rug! It shed so much, we had to vacuum multiple times a day. It was from RugsUSA.com. We did buy a decent one for the nursery off of BurkeDecor.com.

I've bought two rugs now from Joss and Main and it worked out really well. I just recommend reading the description and ignoring the color in the picture. The second rug I bought was described as gold, but looked yellow. It was definitely closer to a dark gold color which wasn't what I wanted, but I didn't have any problem returning it and exchanging it for a different rug.

@JMOM: I just did this! Bought an 8x10 rug online from costco after months of turmoil. It just came today and we're very happy with it. I also looked at sites like bedbathandbeyond, target, west elm, pottery barn, wayfair, and joss and main. I would read the descriptions carefully - like what kind of material, thickness, etc. I made the mistake of purchasing a rug that was thinner than I would've liked once.

@JMOM: I purchased a 9X12 for our dining room and a matching runner for our entrance foyer from Joss and Main, and I purchased a huge rug for our Great Room (maybe 11X14 or something) that was from Payless Rugs - they were the only site that carried the Jaipur rug I wanted, it had been discontinued. Both of my experiences were excellent.

Yep from amazon. I only buy from companies that I have heard of/have checked out, like safavieh. I also try only to buy rugs that are either dhurrie rugs or have reviews that say no shedding, because I HATE SHEDDING.

We bought one from Overstock and were really happy with it. I bought a second one for the nursery and wasn't happy with it at all. I ended up sending it back and buying a duplicate of the one we already had and liked.

I bought an 8x10 from Rugs USA. The color was 100% different, but I knew that before I bought it because I had seen it on blogs in it's natural color and I got exactly what I wanted. Very happy!

We bought our living room rug from Amazon; it's quite a bit larger than 8x10 but we had an excellent experience!!
We've also purchased Pottery Barn rugs online. You can buy a good sized (like 2x2) sample for $25 to make sure the rug works with your colors/home and then they credit you the $25 when you return the sample. Excellent experience with them too.

I have purchased from Rugs USA and Overstock. I have been very happy with my purchases from Rugs USA -- great quality and great prices. Overstock sent me the wrong color, and I had issues with the return. It was a bit of a headache.

We just did this because we couldn't find an area rug anywhere in person that we liked. We ordered from Home Decorators.mit was free shipping and 20% off when we ordered. The rug came as we pictured it and it was great but we were so nervous about it.

We bought one for the nursery from overstock.com and were very happy. I read a lot of the reviews and comments before buying though, since that gave me a better sense of the quality and true colour.
