Calling all August 2014 Mummas!

I'm due this Saturday! 5 days....I so didn't think I would make it this far. On the plus side, my to do list is done and has been for about a week, so now I'm getting around to tasks and projects that I thought would have to wait until way after the baby was born. I really really want to meet this little guy, but DH has come down with a cold so I'd like to wait till that's passed. Otherwise I'd probably be super paranoid and make him wear a mask or something when the baby's born...

Just had ultrasound & they estimate baby to be 7lb8oz. For comparison LO was 7lb9oz ...... at 41w.

    Eeeeeeeeeeeek.

(ETA: although truthfully I always subtract half a pound or so since that's how much I know they can be off)

@kodybear: thanks for reporting the list. I kept going back a few pages to check everyone's due dates.

I've been rocking on the ball hoping this kid gets in good position. my next appointment is tomorrow.

Just had my appointment today at 36w5d for a first internal and the group b strep swab. The internal was a little uncomfortable for a second but nothing worse than a pap. She said the baby's head is "way" down but I'm not dilated "much" so hope those are good signs? Who knows. She felt the baby's head!!!!! So weird!!

  24. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@chibee: I got the same results last week, and was told it was a good place for 36w!

I had my 37w appointment today. No GBS for me, yay! No cervical check today, she didn't see a point in it. I'll get one next week though. And I'm definitely uncomfortable, it hurts to walk because of all the pelvic pressure. End of the day is worse...

@Apples4Teacher: Oh man, congrats!! Soooo exciting!! Glad you're all doing well - can't wait to hear how it went

@sera_87: Uh oh, getting big! Was it fun to see the baby so old on an ultrasound? I doubt I get another one

@chibee: Did she feel hair? Haha. When my OB felt L for the first time she told me she didn't have any hair - I was so sad!

@Mrs.Someone: Yay no GBS! Do you think the pelvic pressure is worse than not being able to breathe? I can't decide which I would prefer at this point. It is getting difficult to sit at my desk at work though, because poor girl is running out of room when I scrunch my torso

  26. chibee

    pear / 1974 posts

@Mrs.Someone: I have to say i was a BIT disappointed when she said i wasn't dilated but... i mean it's early so idk why i'm being so dramatic!

@swurlygurl: i asked if she could feel hair and she laughed!! She said i don't think so.. but i'm not sure. haha

@sera_87: Big boy! Can't wait to see what his official weight is!

@Mrs.Someone: Yay for no GBS! Sorry about all the pressure -- at least he's getting in the birthing position!

@chibee: I was terrified of the internal (some people on the boards describe it as horribly painful), but I didn't think it was bad either. Maybe because I was bracing myself for the worst? Crazy they can feel his head!

Hi ladies, such an exciting time as August is almost here!!

I had my 36w appointment yesterday and I am still measuring big. If I am still measuring big next week they are going to do an ultrasound to get a more accurate estimate of baby girl's size (yikes!).

  29. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@swurlygurl: Yea, I think the pressure is worse. I never had it too bad up top though!

@swurlygurl: @Mrs.Someone: ugh. She goes back and forth. Pelvic pressure. Then I wear the support belt to alleviate that then she moves up and sticks her foot in my rib cage. Fun times.

  31. beckysue

    cherry / 186 posts

@locavore_mama: I feel the same way. Terrible pelvic pressure most of the time but occasionally she is crushing my ribs. I still love how much I feel her move now though.

I'm so anxious this time around! I swear this last week of July is just crawling by. I want it to be August already! My labor started with DS with having to go #2 and now I swear every time I go to the bathroom, I think my labor could be starting! lol

And holy heartburn! Anyone else have bad heartburn? I did not have it this bad with my first pregnancy.

Hope everyone is doing well! I can't wait to see who has the next August baby !

  33. LBee

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

@mrskc: Haha, I thought the TWW symptom spotting was bad! I'm taking Zantac 75 for my heartburn and eating Tums like it's my job. I've also had to cut out cheese, which was a diet staple previously.

  34. msmug

    apricot / 403 posts

@mrs. someone, @locavore_mama, @beckysue: what does the pelvic pressure feel like? I'm not sure if that's what I"m feeling vs Braxton.. It usually feels like menstrual cramps down in my nether regions and it lasts a while. I"ve often been unable to sleep for an hour or so at night because of it.

@mrskc, @bakerbee: YESS the heartburn is no joke!!! I am also popping Tums like it's candy but I dont think it really helps!
I get it really bad whenever I eat peanut butter. Strange!

Aaawww - Sister has hiccups finally!! I've missed them this pregnancy

@BakerBee: It was SO painful for me, but pap smears have been incredibly painful for me my whole life, so I don't know why I ever expected different Let's just say I was actually glad to be able to vaginally deliver and get a little... uh... stretched out. Hah!

@chibee: Hahaha, hey, we have our priorities! I'm hoping for more hair on this baby

@mrskc: My labor started with my water breaking - I'm going to be so lost this time if my water doesn't break. It's crazy how I've been through this before, but it still seems so new and like I have no idea what I'm doing.

  36. swurlygurl

    honeydew / 7091 posts

@beckysue: Ugh, I do not love feeling her move. She is way too tight, and feels like she's doing somersaults in my ribs. At nights DH laughs at me because I'm yelling at my belly to 'stop!' BUT, if she goes too long without moving I start freaking out and poking her.

  37. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@msmug: For me, Braxton Hicks feels like your whole belly tightening. Real contractions are more like menstrual cramps usually with the BH feeling. This pelvic pain is like a sore "undercarriage" as I've been calling it. So the muscles (and bones?) down below are getting stretched and walking hurts.

  38. Mrs. M

    kiwi / 645 posts

@mrskc: Yes, the heartburn is nuts. I get it the worst at night, which is also when my nausea peaks and I'm so ready to get some relief soon. Tums don't seem to really do anything at this point.

@mrskc: @swurlygurl: I feel like unless my labor starts the same way as the first time, I will have no idea either. I thought I would have more of a clue this time, but apparently not.

@locavore_mama: Is your support belt helping? I'm still wearing mine for my lovely pelvic dysfunction issue, but as of this morning I've had excruituating pain again even while wearing it.

  39. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@BakerBee: @msmug: I think it could be ice cream and chocolate causing it at night. Which makes me sad because I love both of those so much. Going to try and skip my ice cream bar tonight and see if it helps.

@Mrs. M: you poor thing! I can't believe you are still having nausea. I bet you are so ready to be done!
