My son has a bright green room!

He's 2y4m but still in a crib so I guess it's still sort of a babyish room. But adding the table set and some toys/storage has made it feel a little more big boy to me. We'll also be taking the changing tray and pad off of the dresser soon which i think will make a big difference.
When he's out of the crib I'll probably go straight to a full sized bed (his crib converts to a full size).

I might chicken out and take the pics down later. Blurred/covered personal info.

More. I feel like it's a weird angle, where the door is you can't see everything.
I think also when he's a little older I'll put some more shelves in for things like trophies or things he makes (like a model airplane) or collects.

Seeing some of these beautiful, well put together rooms makes we wonder... where the heck do the "TOYS" go?????

ETA: my kid seriously has way too many toys!

@Ajsmommy: We live in a 2bdrm apartment with an L-shaped livingroom. The L is our "play area" with a big Ikea Kallax wall unit that is mostly out of view unless you are actually standing in the nook. We keep our toys there and also in some large plastic bins on the other side of the nook. My son is almost three and mostly plays in the livingroom so there is not much point in storing toys in his room. It would just make it harder to put them away after he's asleep!

@Ajsmommy: Funny enough, we didn't begin having toys in the bedroom, we have a playroom for that. They started to migrate up and now rather than be strict about it, I have just added storage for it.

@DesertDreams88: Thank you! The dresser is from Room & Board, and the posters are from Great Big Canvas.

@ElbieKay: LOVE this even though color scares me normally haha! We have that same hamper but it holds toys!

@SweetiePie: Gorgeous! I think I want some canvas baskets - do they come in handy or are they just something else to collect dust on the floor (ie are they too small to be useful)?

@Ajsmommy: haha, all of DD's toys are in my living room.

@wrkbrk: I really like the canvas bins. They're actually pretty new in his room, I've only had them maybe 3 weeks?
We started with one in the LR that's the bigger hamper size. I liked it to hold his big containers of legos and blocks and stuff.
I decided to get the canvas lidded boxes and smaller bins in his room for his wooden train set and the monstrosity "parking garage" you can see in the one pic. It has lots of smaller pieces to build roads. So far I really like them and I think they hold a decent amount. They are PBK and got them on a good sale price. I think you can monogram them too (like his name or even subject like "trains" "cars" etc).

I also have the woven rope bins in the living room that match his ivory colored hamper to the left of his dresser. They are really nice and hold a lot but super expensive (RHBaby). But I think they make similar/identical super cute versions on Amazon.

@SweetiePie: Great, thanks for the info! I was also looking at the PBK canvas baskets - the ones with the clouds on them

This is our shared room-- lo1 is 2.5 and lo2 is expected any day now. Both are girls though when we started lo1's nursery we went with gray/white/yellow to be more neutral. We just today converted the crib back from being a toddler bed after getting lo1 used to her new bed. The art on the wall needs to be rearranged a bit since we moved the furniture around after adding the second bed so it's off center and annoying the crap out of me lol

@wrkbrk: Thanks! It was a risk and I was worried I would hate it, but we are both happy with how it turned out!

@ElbieKay: I like that a lot! It's risky like you said but tastefully done.
I know we're in the same city - do you rent or own? We rent and I want to paint walls so badly but my husband says it's not worth the hassle to restore back to white later.

@SweetiePie: Not sure if we are in the same city or the same metro area. I live in a smaller city across the river to the west of the big city.

We bought our condo four years ago. I never painted any of my rentals before that due to the hassle of repainting. But I am excited that we can finally pick our own wall colors! Unfortunately my husband insists that we paint everything ourselves so I have to sacrifice a weekend and line up overnight grandparent care to make it work.

If you are interested in a more neutral color, you might be able to ask the landlord for permission to paint without having to repaint again later. That probably only works for smaller buildings though.

@ElbieKay: ahhh ok. I knew you were nearby
Yeah maybe I'll ask the landlord. We rent a condo so it's just one owner, not like building management. So much more likely he'd say yes.
Although now that I say that I remembered he is making me change some things back when we eventually move out. Like drapery hardware. So maybe he wouldn't be so accommodating.

@SweetiePie: It would have been much harder if not impossible to buy a place in the bigger city! That is a major reason why we moved: More space, lower cost. I still have a pretty good commute though, and we still live in a walkable community.

Here's my DD's room. We still need to put decor up on the wall, but she loves her loft bed and stairs. When DD2 arrives, we'll move the chair out and put her giant bin of stuffed animals in the corner, lol.
