I am going to a wedding next weekend and was planning on renting a dress off of Rent the Runway. I found one in particular that I liked and that seemed to be the right cut/fit/available for the weekend...BUT...its red.
I wasn't sure what the etiquette was on colors (other than wearing white).
Is this TOO red for a wedding. (wedding is in New York Manhattan area, bunch of 20-30 somethings, groom is good friend of DH's)
What say you?

I wear red to weddings all the time. Especially in NY, I think that dress is perfect. Wear it!

The only time I've heard anyone say anything about a red dress at a wedding, it was because the guest looked quite slutty in the particular dress she was wearing.
That dress is not slutty. I say wear it!

I would say perhaps the only time you shouldn't wear red to a wedding is when its a Chinese wedding because the bride often changes into a red dress at some point during the evening. This might also apply to Vietnamese weddings as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

That's gorgeous, I'd totally do it. The only colors I've ever heard to not wear are white and solid black (but I think that's a regional thing, because I know lots of people do it.)
